sad I missed to join the group buy on time. I hope I can still get a copy for a reasonable price to complete the collection

Hi guys I just won an eBay auction for this and now the seller wants to cancel the auction. I won it for 73€ (inc shipment). I know it's way more than the retail price but I missed the train.

My point is, since he wants to cancel and I can accept or decline his request. Should I accept it? Do you guys think the price is ok or not? I mean do you believe this package is worth that amount? (Taking into account of course we already know it's a reselling item, etc).

Thank you

To be frank, worth is subjective. I've seen some Film Arena packages namely Elektra selling at around the £100 mark. I've seen from 'sold items' on eBay UK this title recently sold around cost. I usually wait some time for the hype to settle because copies might become available closer to the RRP price. But that's not to say the prices will fluctuate. And with Steelbooks it's hard to predict what might become highly sought after. It's your choice bud, and if the seller honours the item I don't think you'll be disappointed with it.

@icharlie17 73€ is not too bad for this package IMO (around 54 GBP) including shipping. The seller will most likely want to cancel this transaction due to it not reaching the price he had in mind.

However, that's the risk of an auction and if you're happy to proceed, he has to (or should) co-operate otherwise my advice would be to take it to eBay customer care for further help and advice.

As long as the item is "mint" and packaged in a manor to protect during transit (some sellers/collectors note i.e. packaged in bubble + box) then I would probably proceed. But it's your decision, if you feel somethings not quite right with this seller, accept to back out and walk away.

Hope this helps...

What's the point if he's not going to sell it to you?

Even if you decline his request he'll probably still just refund you at the risk of negative feedback.

Nevermind I already fixed the issue with eBay and found out he is a member of this forum and it has been reported also. Good day to all! And thanks for the help

I think I might have an idea of who it is.

Sorry to hear you didn't manage to get it. I'm sure you will find another copy in the future though.....

Sorry to hear of your issue @icharlie17. As @BluSteel2012 said, I'm sure you can find another copy. You could also try the thread via this forum: I'm looking for "X" Steelbook, can anyone help me find it? Link below:

Isn't the point of an eBay auction to sell to the highest bidder? Kind of makes a mockery of the system.
I've always wondered about that (has never happened to me) - when a seller is auctioning off something worth a bunch of $, and for whatever reason (people don't see the auction, etc.) the highest bidder gets it for pennies on the dollar. That sucks for the seller, but that is the way it goes. It should be the highest of crimes on eBay if the seller refuses to honor that sale. It is, in essence, a contract.
