I've always wondered about that (has never happened to me) - when a seller is auctioning off something worth a bunch of $, and for whatever reason (people don't see the auction, etc.) the highest bidder gets it for pennies on the dollar. That sucks for the seller, but that is the way it goes. It should be the highest of crimes on eBay if the seller refuses to honor that sale. It is, in essence, a contract.

In this case though, it sold for a decent amount. That's the point of an auction though, why not put a reserve on? Or sell at a fixed price.

I have not had this happen to me, however I have had people win my auctions and not pay, and they don't even respond to messages etc.

Me too. My point was just that- a seller can't hold an auction and then just decide not to honor the sale because he thinks it should have sold for more. That is not how that is supposed to work. And the seller should be harshly dealt with.

Yeah I agree. Ebay don't seem bothered about it though.

Easily fixed by putting a "reserve" as mentioned. I've won at least twice over the years only to not make it past the reserve list so I was SOL.

Don't people have balls anymore? I never put reserve prices. I have never not sent a steelbook out either because it sold under cost. Heck I ship more steels around the world sold at a loss than anyone on here.

Very interesting, one of these scene photos was used as the basis for the artwork on the Play.com Steelbook. Could someone who owns this edition take a photo of this scene photo on its own?
