Of course it couldn't have been one you didn't give a shite about like Shaun the Sheep. Don't give up hope, like I said, my Invasion of the Body Snatchers showed up on the 30th day. At least you got the important one, Ex_Machina.

Of course it was the one I had to shell out for their piece of shite zbox to get.

Sent them a message....will see how this goes.

received my steelbook today. everything in good order, no damages. I have read some comments here on the forum some members had some bad luck with receiving steels from zavvi, myself so far, all in excellent quality.
I do not know if I will open it, I already have the Play Terminator steelbook

Many of the damages aren't visible, so if don't open yours you'll never know. Like my Crow steelbook. Looked mint, but once I opened, it had a dent. Probably one out of four steelbooks is a refund case with me. Terminator arrived undamaged, but as a comparison to my old one, play steelbook clear winner.

I've noticed a rise in Terminator Play.com listings on eBay. Don't know why, it's pretty much the definitive version to own.

Par the upgraded disc, I prefer the amaray art to be honest.

As most members of this forum visit the cinema, as well as collect Steelbooks of their favourite movies, I thought I'd take the opportunity here, to remind those who may have missed the very low key announcement from Park Circus, that "The Terminator" (re-mastered) is getting a limited, international, theatrical re-release on the 23rd June, 2015.

I can't speak for other countries, but in the UK it is single screenings at selected multiplexes on specific dates (Cineworld 23/6, Vue 26/6, Odeon 28/6, etc).

This is a great and unique opportunity to see this masterpiece as it was intended to be seen, on the big screen. I've already secured my ticket for the Vue Portsmouth screening, as I'm sure these will sell out very quickly.

Don't miss out.

Well spotted, I've never had the opportunity to watch this on the big screen, I was far too young when this was out, still one of my favorite movies of all time. I remember back then the UK Cinema was lagging behind for USA Cinema releases, not like today where the movie has the same day release or close release date in the Cinema.

I checked on the Cineworld site, looks like you can already book the tickets, I may well do this, looks like an evening screening.

Now I feel old!

I'm really looking forward to seeing "The Terminator" on the big screen again, after all these years. I know that T2 gets all the plaudits but I've always preferred the original. What James Cameron was able to achieve with such a minuscule budget is absolutely phenomenal. It's a lean and gritty masterpiece, which I would place up there in the pantheon of great science fiction movies, alongside the near contemporaneous "Alien" and "The Thing".

Anyway, glad to have helped. Enjoy!

The first one is a much better movie because the tension and excitement is never broken by some silly comedy or one of Arnold's awful one liners.

The Terminator was my first Schwarzenegger movie and it's one of the reason why I became such a sci-fi fan along with Star Wars and Alien. I was very young when I saw it and I remember it was really frightening. Without a doubt one of the best sci-fi thrillers ever. Terminator 2 to me is one of the best sequels ever made and even nowadays the special effects look better than in many new movies. It pretty much had everything I could want from a movie. Trying to decide which one I prefer more is like comparing Alien and Aliens.

I remember my older cousins taking me to see this when it came out back in the days when local theatres didn't give a rats ass about certificates as long as you were with someone older. I went back to school on the Monday and went from being a nerd to class badass lol! I was only about 11 at the time. Going to see T2 wasn't a film it was a religious experience. First we had the Guns and Roses song and vid that came out first wetting the appetite and for a die hard rock/metal fan like me that was just awesome. I love seeing new films now like the big blockbusters and Marvel films but none of them compares to seeing T2 on opening night, it was like a 2.5 hour orgasm! Seeing films like that and Star Wars when they came out set the tone for the rest of my life on the films I would enjoy and the genres I love.

Well said. I'm with you on everything except the orgasm thing....but only because I saw it with my grandmother and don't want to make that association with the two. :yuck:

Those were the days. I'm a lot younger than you so I never got chance to see Terminator in the theatre, but from VHS. It was also my cousins who showed me all these films, since they were much older. I was around 6 years old when I saw Alien, but I had few nightmares because of the facehugger jumping from the egg. They also showed me The Road Warrior, Bad Taste, Highlander, Star Wars and many other films. Back in those days we spent a lot of time together, especially in the summer. When parents weren't around we were able to see all kinds of films. It was always ''you have to see this film'' :woot:. When Terminator 2 came my cousin had a copy of it way before it hit rental and I was frozen seeing terminator 2 opening battle. As the skull got crushed my life changed forever.

Don't forget Jurassic Park!! Groundbreaking in its day. :)

I often recall my parents saying to me that the movies I enjoyed when growing up didn't compare to those from the 50s and 60s.

I hear echoes of how much better things used to be all over again.

Our own children will be raving (well if they can rave by then) to their own kids about today's movies. You have to accept that demands and expectations change, as well as technology and... Well you get it

Today's the day. Enjoy it all for the spectacle that movies are.
