@Meeko been watching it. a bit of a slow start also feels a bit more YA to me as compared to season one of handmaid's tale. Have not read either book so but I doubt the author wrote this for a younger audience as compared to HT.

@mllNY I felt it as a much needed fresh start in the first episodes.
Also, everything is built so beautifully on set, and I’m a sucker for flashbacks. Heh.

But yes! I do see your point about it feeling more YA. True.

Do you think Aunt Vidala changed Agnes’ matches?

I haven’t read the books either, but from what I understand the books and series differ a bit, e.g. in the timeline.

don't read unless you caught up to this weeks episode
No, cause Aunt Lydia was reading out the matches this week and I think she made the decision purposefully. Agnes' father is a pretty high commander so Agnes needs a person of proper station. Lydia knows this

I have read a bit of where the testements goes (the broad strokes) so I know where the series is ultimately going a bit so am aware of some of the differences based on what I'm seeing.

@mllNY Ohh, true.

I’m hooked atm and really curious to see what happens next and where it ends up going!

That’s smart. Did reading about where the story goes make you more interested in it?

@Meeko I watched HT and enjoyed it; though I liked the first seasons more which focused on more characters and Gilead in general rather than the later seasons which I felt squarely rested on June and a bit on Serena.

This was just a follow-up which I'm watching.
