It is official, our THE THING release has been our biggest ever announcement - so big that our very own website collapsed under the force of this beast!

We really appreciate all the feedback you’ve provided in relation to this title over the last few days and we are taking all your points on board. As a result of all your comments, we’ve reviewed our print run and are pleased to announce that we will be upping the replication of THE THING Limited Edition set from 4,000 to 6,000. The SteelBook will remain limited to 4,000. We are also keeping a close eye on all orders coming in (as will our retail partners) and excessive multiple orders will be cancelled to ensure as many of our dedicated fans can get hold of this release as possible. Lastly, all current pre-orders that have been placed will be fulfilled so do order with confidence!

Arrow Films release of The Thing It's still a 4K scan restoration compared to previous releases which was 2K Scan restoration

It's 4K scan restoration of the original negative
4K scan and 4K UHD is not the same

Film restoration is done at different scan levels 2K/4K/6K/8K

Arrow Films not yet done any 4K UHD releases so far

They did say they will eventually start doing 4K UHD releases as to when it's not known yet
I will take a guess maybe next year you might start to see 4K UHD releases from arrow and this film will be a very likely one for a release on 4K UHD

Independent film distributors costs are a lot different to the major film distributors like Warner/Sony etc

Arrow Films would want 4K UHD be more mainstream in homes to start doing their existing catalog and new releases on 4K UHD
