Yes the change from a gun to a badge is for politcal correctness... There's some sort of requirement where guns can be shown in movie posters but they can't be pointed... This came into effect way after the release of the original poster.

Very good point, maybe because it's obscure? The rules are a bit up in the air... Here's something I've found on the net... If a poster is deemed to be glamourising guns it's unmarketable. Both Shoot-em-up and Wanted had banned posters.
