Official word from ES:

We’re certainly planning to continue doing all future seasons of The Walking Dead in steelbook with matching artwork – it looks likely season 4 will be out in September 2014 as it follows the same pattern as Game of Thrones (i.e. the new season hits DVD and Blu-Ray just before the new season starts).

We’ve been told that the steelbooks will feature in the US Walking Dead magazine, so likely to be quite a bit of international interest for these.

The Entertainment Store is pleased to announce our latest exclusive steelbook releases: Seasons 1, 2 and 3 of The Walking Dead, AMC’s Emmy Award winning TV series.

Each season features world exclusive artwork by Mark Simpson AKA Jock, who is responsible for some of best regarded comics and art of this generation, having worked on 2000AD, The Losers and Hellblazer amongst others as well as producing artwork for many major film studios, including the artwork for HDN Steelbook of the Year 2012 winner The Raid.

Received mine but all have a small sent on the top but the strange thing is all 3 have it in the same place, so done at the factory maybe

All 3 packages arrived today and I love seasons 2 and 3 - cannot comment on season 1 though as they sent me two copies of season 2 in error. So close, and yet, so far

Me too! What on earth are they playing at? I'm severely underwhelmed tbh. The debossing on 3 is the most laziest I've ever seen!

That's very common it's more prominent on some releases like this one.

I know that there not very big dents but for the £85 outlay I would expect mint ones

That doesn't look good. Mine aren't that bad at all.

Edit: Wait ok yeah the top side/edge is worse. Hadn't noticed that until now. not great but I can live with it.

Top right corner? that isnt damage, every steelbook I own has those 'dents' on the corner of the steelbook, its part of the production process not damaged done afterwards....

Definitely part of the production process. The dips are usually more visible on silver steels but they aren't dents / damage

I really like this set and think ES have done another good job bringing us unique steelbooks. I'm not too offended by the jumbo on season 3 either and reckon it has the best artwork.

Me too - picking up x 2 sets for overseas Ninjas and ended up with
x1 series 1
x 3 series 2
and x2 series 3!!!

just checked mine as never noticed before, all 3 seasons have marks in the same place as noted, would agree that it isn't damage as such just part of how they were made, personally don't think it's worth complaining about but each to their own

i dont think these turned out very good..

they look so dull, out of all the cool artwork that could of been used and this was chosen

having one person on each of the front art is so boring imo and also could of done with some nice bright artwork

I disagree, but each to their own.

Making a bright, colourful steelbook for an apocalyptic drama doesn't add up to me.

The use of one character per steel is better. If there are 8 season in the end, the repetitive use of cast shots would get SO annoying.

I would resist dismissing these until you've seen all 3, in hand, side by side.

I also received two of Season 2 instead of one of each. Thought it was a genuine mistake, but after reading the comments above it appears to be more widespread. Always some problem or another with ES releases...

Sent them a message about it on Friday, but haven't received a reply yet

Has anyone outside of the UK ordered through ES's Ebay store? If so, is shipping actually free? And did you receive any update about when you might receive the steelbooks (I doubt anyone already received them)?
