As the price drop thread seems to be getting clogged with posts about the recent HMV special offers, I thought it might be wise to open a thread specifically for discussion of HMV stores, local offers etc.

If you wish to discuss the online store (or lack of), use this thread: HMV.com - Steelbook Retailer Thread [UK]

HMV's current business model is ass-backwards & the dumbest thing i ever saw - how the hell can any major retailer expect to be relevant in this day and age without an online store?

anyway, u guys who like a trip for your steelbooks, I hope your including the cost of petrol in the final price :movie:

HMV Leeds (city centre) had Hunger games £9.99, MIB 3 £6.99, Expendables 2 £5.99 and quite a few Touch of Evil steels at £12.99. They had some Ninja Scroll steelbooks but they were marked at the full price. I asked one of the Staff members to check the price on their system but he refused! Said all the clearance/special offers we're on display. HMV customer service for you.

I think you're missing the fact that they went into administration a couple of months back and are just getting back to their feet. I'm sure we'll see an online store from them sooner or later

I read somewhere that, due to shipping costs, HMV actually made no profit on anything it sold online before they went into admin. They are concentrating much of their online efforts now on 'the vault', which HMV Canada already offers. I can't believe they'd stop selling physical media online though, so it's just a matter of time until everyone can grab their steelbooks :). My HMV didn't have much this week, the only thing worth mentioning was the £5.99 Expendables, not even any Django's or Pi's were to be seen :(.

Headed into HMV Plymouth today, they had no bargains that have been advertised. The Big Clearance aisle had Avatar Steelbook at £9.99, but thats the price they have been selling it anyway!!!!!!!! All other steelbooks were normal price :(

As reported, naff all in Plymouth. Was in Selfridges (Oxford Street) earlier in the week and couldn't see anything in there either.
