I cannot believe all the hate going around for this artwork. Gunna be hella funny when this turns out to be better looking than anyone expects like Thor 2 BB :hilarious: let me be the first to say it. Glorious day for US SB collectors!!! :scat:

Probably the last to say it too. ;)

It's just a lazy, uninspired design, no creativity. Simply throwing a photo on a background doesn't make for a good design. What you see is what you get, not sure how its gonna look better than expected.

The Last to say it, huh? :hilarious: Damn, Ninja! Did you go to Steelbook College? You should be a motivation speaker..... :hilarious:

ON TOPIC: what if this sleeper turns out to be the next RUSH? Mock up not that great looking, not inspired....but then, Rich in color and very nice in hand? Mark my word, Because I won't be the last to say it :hilarious:

This cannot be the final artwork....it is just too random and looks totally out of place...I am quite sure this will change in the coming weeks...

With about 2 weeks to release gotta believe that the artwork is locked in now - I like it, its good when there are different versions available

If this is the final product, it would be cool if the title and border of the artwork were embossed. Time to start my Wolf of Wallstreet collection next to Django. I guess Leo must be my steelbook man crush :wtf:

I dont get all the hate for the artwork.I love it,its very different.

Different doesn't mean better. My complaint is that the picture doesn't take up the entire front cover. It's boxed in like a photograph. And the yellow "frame" seems to clash with the colors in the actual picture, at least to my eye.

For me, even if they just expanded the picture so that the title of the movie is backed by the picture (so the picture would take up the majority of the cover) instead of that yellow it would be a giant improvement.

But I'm not an artist and my opinions of a beautiful steelbook have often varied from other collectors' opinions. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and that stuff...

The mockup doesnt look like a steelbook and the art seems more suited for a slipcover. The US has been suprising us this year so hopefully this release will exceed all of our expectations and be a nice glossed steel with a full slip......Dreams come true sometimes:D

Not always mate. Depends if they own distribution rights in many countries and the release date.

I think this will be Region A locked but I hope it is not.

Few Region locked titles by Paramount (US only):

1. The Island
2. Gladiator
3. Braveheart
4. The Fighter

I didn't know that mate, I always presumed they were region free. I have never come across a region locked released from them before. Thanks for the heads up.

I just noticed the UK version is being distributed by Universal and the US version is being distributed by Paramount. So maybe that is the final artwork and not a slipcover :dunno:
