I mean I really want to support US steels, especially gloss ones, but I am not sure I can bring myself to even pick this one up as it's such a poor effort overall. Problem is I want to buy the movie and with the steel being as cheap as any other version it's so hard not to just buy it.

May have to just stick with the UK preorder I already placed even if it costs a little more.

honestly guys, i was checking my pre order from Germany and it is 22 Euros shipped, about 30 bucks...this is going to be 20 plus tax n in some cases plus shipping, the only down side is the waiting time but i'm willing to do it! ;)

Its like they had a bunch of extra yellow paint sitting around they needed to get rid of and this was the perfect opportunity to do so. It clashes so bad with the disc colors too.

I really want to support the US steelbook market. But I'm afraid if this sells, they will assume we don't mind being offered inferior products because we will buy it anyways, no matter how bad it looks. Look how many steelbooks they dump on us with no interior artwork.

I don't think the print run was overly huge for a US release, 25k maybe??, so it will sell out regardless of if you buy it or not. I think it looks a bit better in hand than the photos do it justice, but yeah.. I think this was a very lazy release after seeing the full body shot.

I'm not sure why the plain back is being criticised so much, at least it isn't a printed back. Every Masters of Cinema release also has a plain back yet collectors don't really have a bad word to say about those releases. :dunno:

plain back is ok sometimes, but only with a remarkable front artwork (like lot of the Masters of Cinema releases you talk about)

Its very similar to Serpico I think

Worst steelbook of the year so far (in my opinion)...for one of the best movies of last year.
So glad we have a very nice steel from the UK to look forward to...but be careful as I have a feeling this will sell out prior to release! Then it will be like Rush, Kick Ass 2 & The Worlds End...not easy to find at a reasonable price!!!
