A curious thing where the USA release is not a USA flag on a yellow background and yet it is the release outside of North America

Good point. Reminds me of Captain America. No steelbook releases in the USA but released in about every other country outside America. The American flag is iconic but we get Leo shouting in a mic lol.

At the end of the day it really comes down to the US getting the short end of the stick, look at the Target Enders Game SB, to me it was one of the worst releases this year, but then look at the HMV one, it was one of the best.

The last two target steels (ender's game & this) were pretty disappointing.
I des up not picking "Enders game" up, and this I got because I liked the film.
Good think the lone survivor looks pretty cool.
I'll probably pick that up, though I wasn't a big fan.

I'm torn about getting this. On one hand, it's a steelbook. On the other hand, I'm not a huge fan on how it looks. I will probably end up getting it though. I enjoyed the movie.

I don't think the steel is hideous but I love the UK. I will get this one as I did Enders Game to support U S steels. I hated that I kept seeing about ten Enders Games at most of my local Targets (6 of them). I want the U S to keep getting them.

I think everyone can agree that this design is less than spectacular, but @ the sale price of $19.99- it's the same price as the regular edition. So you can purchase this one to watch and keep the European edition sealed and pretty. Nice to see so many patriotic people on this forum ;)

Personally, I don't think the Target Ender's Game was bad on it own. But when you compare it to the HMV release, then yeah.

Just got it today, a little underwhelming. Front cover is as expected; average at best. Spine is very good. Inside just has a picture of a Wall Street sign. The back, however, is horrendous. I'm usually a fan of the phrase "less is more" but this has nothing but the credits on the bottom third. This had much more potential.

Well I was going to have my brother pick this up for me while I was at work but yeah not anymore. Who the hell would want to open a steelbook and use the back as a notepad? That's an awful idea and Target should be ashamed to even have release such a ludicrous idea!

I agree with another poster when they said that of course the people in the USA will just run out and buy a mediocre steel and act like its gold. (which ironically in this case it is actually painted like gold) I wish we would all boycott garbage like this and then maybe the USA will turn out better steels like Thor 2 and Zero Dark Thirty.

If you don't like this one, wait almost 3 months to buy it and see it (unless you've already seen it in the theater) and pay more. I get it that it's ugly compred to to other releases, but I'm happy I can go to a store, pick it up for a good price (5% off for Target Red Card Holders). I don't think buying this steel is going to enourage inferior releases in the US either. We just got Thor 2 about a month ago which was a fine steel, so I don't think we're going to see a drop off in quality over one steel.

The way I see it, if you really like the movie, get both. Get this to open and watch because it's cheaper and you get it sooner, and display the UK/German or Czech version.

Here I come Target at 8am!
