I don't care much that this edition costs 200 more, but I don't like that the group buy price includes VAT/Tax.
Every 799czk edition actually costs 620-660 (depending on additional discount of each member), and this one is about 780 instead of 999.
EVERYONE signing up for it is from another country, so they should add their fees of 124 to 660 or 800, not to 800 or 1000.

Also I don't get it about shipping prices. Group buy price is just about 400+ for a couple editions, while the Filmarena website charges a minimum of 950! So they subtract tax but add almost 500 for shipping.
In GB they offer cheaper, real price of the shipping but add up about 150-200 in tax.
Wish they'd just settle on an honest straight forward price without lying.

I'm guessing FA is a company and the GB host is a private individual so he can't do a tax deduction...Shipping - the GB host uses normal post whilst FA uses a courier service?

Well I'll comment on the shipping. Since fa is a company they have to pay custom fees and sorts unlike Carl through the CB as he is an individual shipping packages not a company private mail I guess is a bit different than business mail. That's the shipping aspect. Now no matter what there will be tax/vat on these as they are being sold to someone who lives in the originating company. Idk how much the steel costs by itself there but say it's 680. Plus the taxes on it idk how much that would be either as I'm in us but say it takes it to about 720. Now add in the price of the slip to have it made and such and the cards your close to the selling price. the group buy has added fees due to PayPal and hidef ninja fee as well. So yes it's a bit higher but still reasonable. Also no one took into account that this is by film arenas Slavic friends so they also want to make a bit of profit otherwise why do this. It is a business and you need to make money otherwise you go bankrupt

Shipping is via regular mail in both cases. They have two even more expensive methods, never tried them.
But they do pack extremely well, better than ANY other store or company. One can literally play football with the package like Ace Ventura, leave it in the rain or snow for a couple of days, and nothing will happen to the FACs inside!

FA is a company and is subject to customs charges when they ship packages to a customer outside of the EU. When I order direct from FA, the deduction of VAT produces a lower per-item cost than if I bought it from Karel's GB. But then their shipping costs end up being as much as the item itself, so combining orders from Karel's GBs comes out much cheaper.

And personally, I don't like FA's packaging because they have been using shredded newspaper as packing cushion (in addition to bubble wrap). Whenever I open one of their packages, the shredded paper gets everywhere. I like Kimchidvd's packaging more because they just use lots of bubble wrap - it's just as well protected but a lot less mess.

FA's package is a package (bubble whrapped) inside a package (extra protection) I don't see a problem with that. Takes us longer to unpack alright
