2k printrun and people went nuts, could turn into another Battle Royale: awesome movie, great artwork, hyped release but actually nothing for the masses.

I can't see how this possibly sold out. 2k print run, worldwide exclusive of a movie that's brilliant but not very popular.

Taxi Driver is the exact same type of release as this except it has double the quantity and look at that.

This is where you're wrong, There will be blood is a cult classic and has a large following of fans. I know people who have custom figures of Plainview. 'I drink your milkshake' is line that is quoted by a lot of people. I never had a doubt that this would not sell out.

Taxi Driver has had a lot of good releases already, like many other fans of the film I picked up the US digibook, there was no need to get the steel.

I'm sure it will come back in stock, but when it does I would snap one up.

Many of the Blufans and Kimchi WEA exclusives with ultra limited print numbers are not doing well as expected. So I wouldn't be surprised if this one follows suit but the market is unpredictable and anything can happen.

Wreck It Ralph Blufans and T2 Kimchi (10000x popular than this one) are classic examples.

5 actors who I think are the best and incredible are:

1 - Daniel Day Lewis
2 - Paul Dano
3 - Ben Foster
4 - Dane DeHaan
5 - Denzel Washington

It was a no brainer that I ordered this. 2 of the greatest current actors alive in 1 movie. CHA-CHING!

I'm not buying it. There is no way that this is as popular as any Disney release.

Will 2k runs become the norm? Seems to work for the retailer. 16.99 seems high for a catalogue release, with a 4k run I doubt it would have sold out so quickly, but 2k seems to cause a bit of a pannick.

Great film and a modern classic.

Why wouldn't this release be just as popular as a Disney Release? This film had everything, great actors (especially Daniel Day Lewis), strong plot and I liked this film more than some of the releases Disney had produced. Just because this isn't Disney doesn't mean it's less popular. There's more to life than just Disney movies. And I love most Disney films.

Agreed, This is an important film that a lot of people want to own in the Steelbook format. I imagine its value will climb quite a bit over time.

I think that if you like the movie and want to own it in steelbook then fair play to you but to those that are buying it because of the print run and expecting it to escalate in value after selling out I think you will be disappointed. Just my opinion.

I bought this steelbook because I absolutely love this film. It's one of my top 10 favourites and it has one of my favourite actors in it (Daniel Day Lewis). On top of that, the artwork is excellent. When I buy things, I don't look at the print run, or the future value of the product, but on the film itself.I don't like people who buy this just to make a profit as it's taking advantage of people who missed out on this and really want it, and would pay more just to get it. Alsothe fact that I only own a dvd copy of it, I thought I'd might as well upgrade.

And I respect everyone's opinion as well. If you don't like it, you don't like it.

I think it's very plausible - with the success of a smaller run like this, it makes people notice that it's already sold out and so quickly that it could lead to other ones being done the same way.
