I also ordered two just to be on the safe side and I opened the first one only to find a dent under the j-card and paint chips. So I had to open the second one. Luckily for me that one was nice and mint. Have emailed them asking for refund on the damaged one. I only order one but now starting to think of getting two just to double my chance of getting a nice copy (but I shouldn't have to do this)

Very sleek and classy. My only complaint is that, like some have said, the colours verge on being slightly dull and it lacks a significant 'wow-factor'. Gloss would have certainly been welcome.

:hilarious: brilliant, that seems fair to me, good job!

Yeah :hilarious: I figured it evens out as long as they refund one copy.

They are trying to play 'Zavvi Mind Games' with me on this. I'm not giving in this time. I spend too much $$$ every month with Zavvi and I work too hard to accept damaged goods. On another occasion they sent me this reply:

"I have again reviewed your pictured and would like of offer a partial refund of 25% partial refund, as we would be unable to guarantee that any replacement would arrive in a better condition due to the distance your order has had to travel"

They tried to pull that sh*t on me, but They are crazy because the damage didnt happen in the mail. The box was fine. The damage happened at the factory before it was sealed. It was Under the j card, and the j card was fine.

Yeah it's sad. But for "limited" runs this is the only way to ensure a nice copy.

Here's a pic of the damage....

And this is why I am against limiting pre-orders of any steel to just one per customer. Limit it to 2 if you must because no one wants the only copy they were allowed to order to turn up damaged.

I feel for you. I've been in this boat many times. I hope you get it sorted.

Mine arrived on Friday... Every Zavvi delivery makes me nervous. Fortunately this was in perfect condition.

Let's see if The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas is when it arrives tomorrow!

Got my 2 copies today. This being "limited", i ordered a spare.
•One copy had a visible scratch on the front under the plastic.
•The second copy was severely dented under the j card.

I opened them both, and swapped the fronts. Now I have one cherry copy, and one really fu**ed up copy. I Query'd Zavvi that one copy was damaged, so im battling them for a refund for one copy. Fair right? Good thing I ordered 2, but its just sad.

That's why I don't like the idea of ultra limited steelbooks from Zavvi. Until they can do a better job actually delivering the goods, I'd prefer a larger print run to compensate for all the damaged goods. And I'm not talking Jungle Book print runs here. A refund is only fair when you have to buy 2 copies just to secure 1 good copy.

The problem for me recently has been all the paint defects and misaligned embossing. There have been very few scratches and spine slashes for me (though always with the obligatory pain chip or two). That's another reason why ultra limited shouldn't have any embossing, because you can easily rule out another 20-30% due to sloppy manufacturing.

Just got this nice answer from them...
Thank you for getting in touch for an update on your order for There Will Be Blood - Zavvi Exclusive Limited Edition Steelbook (Ultra Limited Print Run) [Blu-ray].

I am really sorry to let you know that we have had to cancel your order for this item because our suppliers were unable to provide it.

I understand how disappointing this might be. We have tried other suppliers :hilarious: but we have not had any luck. We will be removing the item from our website as soon as possible.

If a charge has been taken for the order, then a refund will be requested upon cancellation and the money returned to your account within 3-5 working days.

Do you know, if/when this will be back up for order? The Boy in the Striped Pyjama is up again and the prices for both Steelbooks dropped to 20,95 ... a good sign that there are also spare copies of There Will Be Blood.

I really don't want to miss this Steelbook ... a third time.
