Never seen this movie, but the black cover looks very cool. Much better than that colourful '80s' design.

But wow, it is expensive! $50 from Zavvi? I'll wait for next year's SteelBook sale!

Surprised by the negative response, this looks great. It's the artwork I grew up with. I much prefer when studios use classic, iconic artwork and posters, instead of doing something new but Photoshopped to hell (new Robocop steel for instance).

This is begging to be embossed - the letters are raised! Gloss finish would be awesome but apparently Studiocanal is too cheap for that.

I would rather they go old school VHS / Soundtrack artwork with it to be honest...

Sorry but that looks terrible.

Should have made it all matte black, with the border and embossed text, and made the text glossy black, and used that raised lettering from the Wrestler steelbook in black for the spine title.

They could have given us an all black steel and printed all the logo and other junk on a clear slip like the one Asian release of Monsters University.

I like it... But if it's matte, which is most likely will be, without any em/debossing, it'll be a very boring release, IMO. Maybe if it was half the current price, it'd at least be worth the purchase for the bluray.

Well we are on a forum where people express their opinions (good or bad). If you're afraid of hearing something negative, you might as well stay off the internet and never leave the house.

How so? Both designs were used on VHS. I've never seen the Airplane! one though. But that may have to do with being in the US. The artwork they used is not some new design, it was also used for the DVD I owned and by the Criterion Collection. Also, from a design standpoint it's much more attractive (and closer to the all-black style) than the Airplane! one.

The inside art is a bit predicable and disappointing also IMHO. That particular gag gets way too much attention when there are so many other great moments in the flick. I would have gone with...
