Im not a fan of 3D, but I dont see the point in 4K before it actually is a standard. Whats the point in having a movie in normal bluray and 4K? 3D is atleast a different experience as it adds something, 4K is only better quality, but normal bluray have excellent quality as it is already.

What do you think guys ? :whistle:View attachment 355947
Very nice . . . as inside art

4K is only better quality
I think you've answered yourself . . "better quality" is, well, better quality . . .
Maybe not a "giant leap for mankind" but certainly a leap in the right direction . . . to reproduce the most true to life images possible on a monitor being the ultimate aim.
4K UHD is the present for some and the future for others - no matter what anyone says - but as for it ever supplanting regular 1080p BDs that's a NO.
Regular 1080p discs will be around until the end of physical media - for as long as there are enough people like me buying physical discs.
Anyway 1080p discs plenty good enough for the kind of films I watch (especially when compared to what I was used to in the '90s - films taped from the TV on to SVHS tape) and like many here in no great hurry to upgrade and will do so in my own time and not before.
As for 3D discs - certainly going to be produced well into the future so all those who adopted it need have no fear. 3D not my cup of tea at home as not a fan of putting on special glasses to watch films (for a number of reasons).

RE: 4K UHD discs: Are we getting what we think we're getting? https://www.highdefdigest.com/blog/ultra-hd-not-always-4k/

As for this package reportedly not containing the 4K UHD disc I'll say that I'm more than a little surprised . . . and leave it at that.

You clearly have NO friends then! billy no mates!
There’s that hostile attitude again. Tell me, why are you clinging onto 3D instead of upgrading your kit?

To be honest, from you, I’m amazed you haven’t said “Hela isn’t front and centre with her tits out! No buy from me!”

Try reading the thread again! I have a 4K/3D THX calibrated set and high end Oppo 4K player! My kit is FULLY upgraded with some of the top 3 products on the market, I still rate 3D over 4K!
