Try reading the thread again! I have a 4K/3D THX calibrated set and high end Oppo 4K player! My kit is FULLY upgraded with some of the top 3 products on the market, I still rate 3D over 4K!
Then you need your eyes tested. What a waste of good kit. That’s like buying a blind kid a HTC Vive.

Pure awesomness although I would rather have the artworks the other way, Thor alone on front side. But it is frikin beautiful :cigar:

I totally agree! And can Blufans produce a bright and vibrant SteelBook of this?

I need to see this movie to decide what to buy. I can see my Zavvi order being cancelled. :D

Why is it so hard for some people to accept that some of us prefer 3D even though it's not the "latest" tech? I feel like we're being constantly being bullied into adopting something we don't want. Many of the 4K discs I've seen are absolutely pathetic in terms of visual difference.

Back on topic, I love the vibrant colours on this. It should look amazing in hand .

Look, I get it. It’s a new format. It’ll mean buying Star Wars again (when they finally make the UHD collection). Hell, I’ve just bought Bram Stoker’s Dracula for the 15th time because the 4k release recently came out (surprised they skipped doing a 3D conversion of that one...)

But eventually, you’ll have to accept it and move forwards. I’d bet that you’ll end up wanting to pick Thor Ragnarok up in 4k because you’ll have bought a new TV and will slowly start to replace your favourite blu-rays with 4k, and then you’ll think “damn, wish Blufans stuck the 4k disc in their edition, it would’ve saved me £20 and a spot on my shelf”.

But whatevs. Those of us who do want a superior experience and are ready for it now are being made to spend more money and waste more space double dipping because some people don’t want to spend an extra £5 to future proof their purchases.

Having the 'tools' for both 3D and 4K I would still prefer the 3D disk to be included over 4K if the movie was released that way and agree the upgrade to 4K is nothing amazing like DVD to Bluray was but then that could just be me being old and my eyes wearing out :p

Like you, my kit allows me to indulge in both 4K and 3D.... have been impressed with a couple of 4K releases so far but the other day i tried my Force Awakens 3D disc for the first time - blew my socks off

I would have to agree.
I really enjoy 3D.
I struggle to see a difference most of the time between a native 4k disc and a normal BD upconverted to 4k.

I would agree though that a 4k capable TV is a must.

4K is an upgraded experience to 2K.
3D is a totally different experience to 2K.
So it just depends on what you enjoy more.
I wouldn't say one technology is better or "more advanced" than another.

Spot on, I'd go one further and say 3D is a separate experience and UHD is just an upgrade and so it depends on what you're after? For me 3D is an experience I can (and have) live without (even though my 4K OLED is more than capable), UHD/HDR for me though is just the next natural step in the evolution that started with VHS to DVD and then to HD Bluray

This is why I like the fully loaded options. Give me the option of both.

Really really enjoying 3D at the moment. Didn't bother with it on my old 1080p active TV and think the only way to really see it now though is on a 4K passive set. The benefits are great. Preferably OLED where possible.

I'll continue to watch things in 3D until it's gone or my TV dies. I'll grab everything that isn't in 3D in 4K and where possible get a fully loaded steel like HMVs Blade Runner 2049, Spidey, POTA and Amazon's Valerian.

Back to the topic at hand though, I'll be keeping a close eye on this. I'll decide when the package glory shots are out.

Accept it, eventually, move forward ? I don't want 4k, i want 8k, no i want 16k, heck lets go for 32k instead. 3d is moving forward, 4k is being stuck on a roundabout going round and round and round. What everyone is missing here, is 3d can be 4k aswell, 3d can be 8k and so on. The debate about 3d will go on, long after "4k" has fizzled out and been replaced by 8,16,32k. Am glad people are happy with 4k, but it has a short shelf life, and therefore could be an expensive investment only to be replaced in the not so distant future. The fact 4k has been pushed so hard at the expense of 3d shows the main driving force is "more" money ! A 4k3d image is not that much ahead of a 1080'3d image, not much reason to "upgrade". The industry has in effect created a vhs-betamax type situation (not 3d or 4k of course), which is beyond stupid. I have held off on 4k (have got a few) because i don't believe it is the quantum leap forward everyone who has spent their money on is proclaiming it to be ! Just in case you think am a 3d junkie, am still waiting for my holographic projection system were i can be "IN" the picture ! That's forward thinking !

I agree with most of what you're saying but a 4K TV with passive 3D is a huge step up for 3D quality.

You are getting the full 1080 lines of picture as opposed to half resolution on passive 3D on a Full HD TV.

What I'd like to see is when 8K screens eventually arrive, for 4K 3D to actually exist and use an 8K screen for that with passive 3D.

Anyway, that's the last post from me on the subject as it's very off topic now.

Fugly poster for the front . . . hardly a good match to what's gone before from these guys . . .

Love the back - in a different colour scheme - though.

Front image more suited to a lenticular or Full Slip (imo).

Front art should've been this - or something very similar - if only to go better with the previous two steelbooks:-

If the Zavvi one continues the spot gloss i’ll Opt for that one with kimchi(assuming they do one) lenti slip.

If not, am hoping to get a lenti from these guys.

Fully Agree hence the reason I got an Amazing 3D/4K Oled.....it's Night over Day compared to my previous 1080p active 3D...

.....Now My Blufans 3D viewing Looks Ridiculously Awesome...

This is why I rarely post here anymore, know-it-all, patronising opinions like this.
