Just in case you missed my reply to you @Alf_1 -

Steady on Tex!!

The thread was updated accordingly with live dates and times. Rather than blaming HDN why not help yourself and do the following -

1. Keep tabs on the product thread (all info is posted in the OP, it takes seconds to check)
2. ‘Watch’ and subscribe to the group buy forum so you get notifications and emails to when a new group buy goes live.

There was 24 hours advance notice of when the GB was going live. That might not be enough for you but unfortunately that’s tough. As I’ve said before, I run the GBs and I set them live at a time that is convenient to me, not you. Have you also considered that I might get the info at very short notice from Blufans?

Sorry you missed out and I hope you find one somewhere else.

I check the thread at least twice a week and couldnt log on Thursday... If they were considerate at HDN they would send out emails to members that can sign up with interest that they want to buy this item and then when HDN has a date they can in a timely manner send emails to those members letting all members that want to try to buy it a more fair chance because telling your members last minute; a day before is very unprofessional! Of course the obssessed stalker members that come here everyday was going to see the info, but not everyone can come everyday, so to give a one day heads up is flat out inconsiderate!
Ah, so in your despair you’re also going to insult everybody else on here? You’re not doing yourself any favors here.

Like I said, the way I see it you have the biggest responsibility yourself to stay informed. Checking in on this thread once daily would not take more than a minute, and I think that level of effort must be required if you don’t want to miss out. 24 hours is long enough warning for most (yes, even when we have jobs, kids and a social life) but it’s also inevitable that some will miss it for some reason.

This is a voluntarily service provided to us to get a chance at obtaining releases that is almost impossible to obtain at cost outside of GB. I think it’s really unfair that you attack those people giving us this chance, just because you were busy and missed out. They deserve praise, not this crap in their face as thanks. If it meant that much to you, you should’ve made the effort. You could’ve just asked, and you would’ve gotten the answer that GBs may be announced with a short warning.

There will be split meanings about that, but you can check the other site how that went with a fixed time... The pressure is a little more spread out with a window instead of a fixed time. I think it’s a good way to do it. And if you know what you’re doing, you don’t sit with F5 for 3 hours. I didn’t press F5 once, and still managed to get in. :)

This was my issue. I haven't done a blufans GB in awhile but they nearly always have a specific time. Not sure why the change.

Don't bother though. They don't care
Reasons have been stated at least twice, that I’ve read, in the last few days.

Your alerts must be pretty reliable.

What, to prevent server problem? The site still tanked when the GB went up. Took me 5 minutes of refreshing to get to the PayPal screen. If everyone gets alerts the server will still get hit hard.
Unless there was another reason given I didn't see

GBs on here are very well run by dedicated people who also have jobs and you've been here 5 minutes and want to slate them. You should take a step back and have some perspective. It's a steel book at the end of the day. No one has died.

True, I agree with you and all Im saying is you should never a day before give a date to a pre order/group buy and at least give 1-2 weeks heads up because some members like you said have to work and can not check everyday...

So if those dedicated people work as well then they should be able to understand that telling members a day before is wrong and not enough time for all their members to be prepared. When we all work we cant check the thread everyday so if they are that dedicated, they should be considerate and give a better time frame for all the members that are interested in this purchase.. All that takes is an email in their newsletter or on the thread give a date a week or 2 prior to the group buy. Why couldnt he let us know the Group buy will be on Friday a week prior or 2 weeks, why a day before?

No good company will announce a pre order ls going live a day before and all their dates they know for a while.. They knew its coming out in May and they had an idea when the Group Buy will be, so there should be better preparation given and one day heads ups are not enough time.

I would say the same opinion if I bought it... Its not right for any item that they will have for sale to tell members a day before pre order. That is a unprofessional way to do it and HDN is a business. So, even group buys should be handled more professionally and announcing the pre order date a day before on a forum is not good!

There is no good reasoning to do it a day before and at least if they updated all the members in a reasonable time like at least a week then if members miss the purchase when they all got the info in a good amount of time is different then members not getting the info because it was randomly announced a day before is not right to do.

Im sure all the people at HDN doing group buys are wonderful people, but it still doesnt mean they should not be more considerste if they do a group buy not to announce the live sale a day before.

That is straight up ridiculous. I dont even care about not getting the item as much as not getting the group buy info in a timely manner! Not for a staff member to spontaneously come on the thread on a Thursday and say hey, the sale goes live tomorrow is flat out inconsiderate.

Message 1362 has another reason for it, there are also others, do a quick search. Stop with the negative criticism. GBs here are second to none, if anyone feels differently just go source them where they carry out the GBs as you like them to be.

Participating in this particular hobby does require being quite diligent. Too much so? Each person needs to decide that for themselves. I can say this for sure. Without the information and support from this forum your chances of getting many of these limited sets is way less. And even when you regularly check in you could still miss out. I've been frustrated before. Just the way it goes sometimes. Many variables. The available quantity, the popularity of the title, the notice, system/website issues, changes to GB time (starts earlier or later than expected) bulk buyers, etc. Selling out in minutes or even seconds is not uncommon. I've missed out with my hand ready on the trigger! Not for the easily discouraged for sure.

This GROUP BUY SUCKED!!!!!

There was no email or anything and everytime I checked this thread there was no clear info on when the group buy would happen and the only answer was soon.

Then all of a sudden with no warning or email to people signed up for uodates lets us know this was going up for sale.. Your group buy sucks and screw this site. Im done with it! You suck at giving customers a fair update and a better heads up. You suck!

No really Alfie, tell us how you really feel lol. But kudos to you for expressing your dissatisfaction. Nothing changes if no one says anything, so speaking up is not a bad thing. But you don't gotta worry about the scalpers taking up all the stock. It was limited to 1 per customer. Besides, I only seen a few pop up at overinflated prices in eBay right now. That's probably your only recourse now. I know dealing with these scalping rascals is a major pain in the ass. They've eaten me alive in the past when I missed these GB's either because I was working, or I was banned at the time of the GB lol. Sometimes, you just gotta bite the bullet, know what I mean.

unless you work 24/7 and never take a dump you can login at least once a day to HDN and become a stalker member.

I understand your point and I apologize if I come off as insulting anyone here as that is not my intentions.

Ok, for some people 24 hours is enough time, but if you are a company you should not just be considerate to just some members and they should consider all the signed up members interested in this thread knowing that not all members can see the info in That 24 hour window. At least a week is more logical to spread the info equally to all the members...

If I were in their shoes, I care about everyone on the HDN forum to be informed in a timely manner and there is a better chance giving a week or 2 for all members to see that info posted versus giving the info a day before not all the memebrs will be informed fairly and that is an unequal way to treat your forum members! You say the Group buys are voluntary, but you do realize HDN is a business and they are not doing Group Buys for free!

They are collecting fees and they operate as a business, so they should treat all the members eaqully and 24 hours is not enough time for all members to be properly up to date!

If you have read some of my posts that I have made in the past in reference to this, we do not add GB fees to Blufans as they are already more expensive compared to Kevin’s GBs and we try to be as competitive as possible. The prices I charge are given to me direct from Blufans.
