I do not understand why the 3D version is still sold out, you cannot tell me that it is already completely sold out. I have been keeping my eyes open on the zavvi sites for some weeks but it remains sold out. Most of the steelbook collector's do not want 3D steelbooks, I already read a lot of comments here in the topics :" why is this or this movie released in a 3D steelbook ? "
and now the 4K steelbook is still available and the 3D " sold out " ?

I love 3D , so I really want this steelbook , I like the art work, it has 3D+2D ., there is no dvd included, and it has dutch subs
I want this : "my precious "

come on, zavvi , you must have some copies still available for sale
3D steelbook would be more popular than the 4K as a lot of customers and collectors not upgraded to 4K yet and is why 3D steelbook is sold out
You also have a lot of customers from USA ordering the 3D steelbook as they did not get 3D release

Not all customer cancellations are put back on the system especially if it's a small amount
Sometimes it's down to more orders than actual stock available so some cancellations cover these orders

The print run would have been split between 3D and 4K it's the same steelbook only difference is the discs content and Hub trays

4K is still available simply because it's not sold out
As to what the split is between 3D and 4K steelbooks that's not known at the moment but as more 4K tv's are in homes that split will increase with 4K

There might be some stock held back with the distributor for replacements and be made available at a later time if not used for replacements but they might have done this for the 4K and not for the 3D

I agree. I have the same set like you and I'm also very happy with it ;-)

Yours is better as yours has a Thor TDW with the title. I posted a picture earlier in the week of all 3 of the WWA Thor's lined up and I'll be honest and say I think they look shite lined up together, the colours dont match and like I say the lack of title on the WWA TDW makes it stand out like a sore thumb

Nice display! All my Marvel steelbooks are displayed front facing too, but I’ve now run out of space for them above the TV which is where I display them! Think the BluFans steelbook is nice but 1) I’ve seen the artwork used on the blu-ray releases (I prefer my steelbooks to have exclusive artwork) and 2) the BluFans release ‘wouldn’t go’ with the other two, whereas the Zavvi release does.

Mine arrived today.

Tbh I’m a little disappointed by it

Didn’t mind the mock up but now having it in hand it really should of had the hulk on the back.
And the fact the US one is a million times better annoys me. Great film though and still happy to own the wwa

Did you get this @virkia ?

I’m only asking because you have posted everyone else’s pics of this steel about 10 times now

Silly question . . . you clearly haven't read or been following the thread (post #533 btw)
Anyway, to answer you as I should . . . yes, indeed, I'm a collector not a photographer.

Yes, the Blufans steelbook is definitely not in keeping with the THOR steelbook style . . . but on the other hand it does go with other busy steelbooks from that retailer.

Blufans steel is bloody amazing from the mock up. Again I agree that it doesn't go well with the others due to a) No Thor alone, and b) The colours.

But lets be honest here, does it have to match? No. Does it have to fit into a certain style? No. Without variety from different retailers steelbook collecting, REAL collecting, would be boring as hell.
We collect for ourselves so matching or not matching is irrelevent when you are wanting to collect a variety.

If we could go back years, start steelbook collecting all over again, could only pick one option and each retailer all started from scratch at the same time... give me a brightly coloured, well presented, glossy, embossed Ragnarok over the others anyday!

I have WEA and WWA for variety. To me that is one of the things that makes collecting fun.

^ All good points . . . and personally speaking in favour of all the artwork styles that the designers can throw at steelbooks (with some notable exceptions).

Regarding this latest THOR steelbook, however, I would still say that the WWA is the best front artwork choice if only because it fits in so well with most of the (classic) designs that have gone before.

People will argue till the cows come home about which is the better steelbook - the U.S. or the U.K. - but I say it's a good thing that we have the same design with two different finishes if only to give the collectors the choice of double-dipping. The U.S. with it's Glossy finish, larger de-bossed front title and larger spine title is arguably the better steelbook. The U.K with its Gloss Varnish and lovely metallic reflections is still a lil' beauty in the right light and has more going on than the U.S. steelbook.
Anyway, both steelbooks look stunning and make for worthy additions to any Thor steelbook collection.

Just for anyone that hasn't had enough THOR RAGNAROK steelbook comparisons . . . (LOL) . . . and just to confirm - the silver slash i.e. the outline of the chest armour is less visible on the U.S. edition thanks to its thicker coat and absence of metallic doodahs.
U.S.

Yeah, I think the big difference with this 3D release and it not coming back into stock (yet?) is definitely because it's the first MCU film without a US 3D release. Even though the Vol 2 one was limited to the steelbook there, it was still available, while this wasn't at all. I did miss out on ordering this but I'm not too worried tbh, I just got the regular 3D version and saved myself £7.40. And if I do end up regretting it I might pick up the steelbook locally, it's just sans 3D and 4K here.

But going forward if you want an MCU 3D steelbook you'd better pre-order asap otherwise you'll miss out now.
