Collectors edition looks very interesting. Not sure whether to bite now or wait. It seems that so many of the Japanese special box sets have a significant reduction in prize a few months after release...

Looks interesting, but not seen this title will keep updated with it... [emoji41]

I prefer the Fox UK steelbook is looks lot better than the Japan 45th Anniversary Edition

The steelbook from Japan looks bland compared to the UK
Nice and only 9.99 GBP now. Shame it doesn't have all the extras of the Jp Collectors Edition.

The uk release is a fine looking steelbook , many a time i've hovered over the buy it now ...................BUT despite being one of those movies that captures the attention and conjures up visions of epicness it is actually a rather long winded and ponderous tome that takes far too long to tell the story .Some judicious editing wouldnt go amiss in this movie and while i have fond memories of it when i was a child i still dont know whether i'd bother to watch it again if i bought the steelbook .

I disagree, I like the semi-documentary feel of the film and it pays off as the film progresses. I'm rather watch 2 minutes of this that the dire Pearl Harbor...... In that film some judicious editing (like most of the film) would help. I remember going to see Pearl Harbor at the cinema and I was waiting to go in and I could hear all this laughter as the crowd was leaving the 5pm showing of Pearl Harbor and I asked a bloke what's all the laughter about. He replied "You're about to see it mate". Ouch, he wasn't kidding.
The steelbook is lovely for Tora! Tora! Tora! and to be honest the Japanese set looks a bit OTT for my liking.

Fair comment ,I'ts way better than the other one . Maybe I'll buy the uk one and try it ,worth doing for the nostalgia as I first watched it with my late grandad (gp) way back then .
Thank you
