Travel Bug

After being back in the UK for just over 3 years I decided to visit the Dominican Republic last February, primarily for whale watching. Now I have the travel bug......bad. Unfortunately just after I returned to the UK from my holiday I was made redundant. I'm back in work now and planning my next big adventure. Not sure what country, or even continent to visit next. Toss ups are currently Costa Rica, Thailand, Peru or back to Borneo. What I have done is invest in some serious photographic equipment to document my travels. Whilst whale watching I realised that the Fuji bridge camera I was using simply couldn't hack it, I needed something with a serious lens on it. That's why I decided on a Nikon. It simply oozes quality.
I've also decided to upgrade my tripod. The great thing about the tripod is that I can also use it as a monopod. It's a lot smaller than my old tripod and a hell of a lot lighter. At least now the airlines will allow me to take it into the cabin with me.
I also decided to upgrade my camera bag and found the perfect on. It's not too big for in cabin storage, but large enough to carry ALL my gear safely. In fact it's big enough to carry my Nikon D5300 body, 18-55mm and 55-300mm lenses, my battery grip and batteries, 2 GoPros and accessories, 4 selfie sticks, an iPad Air 2 and even my brand new tripod. I want to book a trek just so that I can try it all out. The best thing is that the storage is facing your back so that no one can get in the bag and pilfer anything.

Well at least there is one advantage to being single again, you can be spontaneous in your travelling.
