Simmons is winning this without a doubt, if Steve Carell was submitted as a supporting actor it would have been a very intriguing race. I must applaud both Hawke and Ruffalo, loved both of their performances.

I've only seen Boyhood, but J.K. Simmons' performace while watching the trailer for Whiplash gave me chills. He wins, hands down.

This is the easiest category this year. JK Simmons, hands down!

Ironically, the tiniest upset potential comes from the person LEAST deserving to be in the category, Robert Duvall.
Why, remember Alan Arkin's win for 'Little Miss Sunshine'. It was not the best performance, but it was 'his turn' because of his age. Sometimes the academy treats this category as a lifetime achievement award. JK Simmons should be a little wary of that potential this year!

I like JK, I didn't see the movie but I like his other stuff. Would have preferred Ed Norton but can live with this outcome

Sweet, had to be between him or ruffalo. Not seen birdman yet but would of been cool for norton to get one.
