I was dumb enough to order a one click. Today I discovered Disney is ending physical releases in Australia and ending their movie club in Canada. That tells me there is a 99.9% chance they will never release WandaVision on physical disc. If I read that ahead of time, I wouldn't have bought anything.

Physical media will be ending sooner or later. For technical and ecological reasons. We’ll see it happening in less than 12 years. We, media collectors, are like dinosaurs slowly running to their extinction.

We'll have to do with on-screen art, changing covers and backgrounds for folders with our TV series on HDD on media players like Zidoo and Zappiti.
And old physical media will he on shelves, like old books...:grumpy:
But some titles will still get a physical release, like vinyl now.

I've basically prepared myself for that by building parallel collections over the last 15 years, with over 90 external portable HDDs now.

Just make your own disc, very simple if you have a drive that allows you to burn blurays.
You can make your own cool menu as well (wondershare, bluray creator) and add extras like bloopers, interviews etc you can download online, and buy some bluray stickers, if you got a printer you can print whatever image you want on them.
(be warned them Feds be watching you)

or you can get the dics online for $7 (free worldwide shipping)

Almost 24 hours, not bad.
If every release was that comfortable to get... wake up whenever, have a cup of tea, take a stroll, casually remember what day it is, leisurely go to the website at any time, and order the best edition left, because people first and foremost buy the crappy ones. :D
Well despite the backlash even if it did take nearly 24hrs to sell out it’s still better than Nova who have loads of editions of films (with the discs) that were originally released years ago. So still pretty impressive. Still a success for them.

Of course we are used to 10 second - 3 min sellouts. But they still did better than some sites (also kimchi and PA)

Wouldn't surprise me if it happens in 2-3 years. Not saying it will happen that soon, but who knows.

No disc is the biggest wtf of this release... and another reminder of the tragedy known as streamers.

Where are my: Mank, Stranger Things, Mindhunter, Rings of Power, Andor, etc. etc.

Sandman on blu-ray is a miracle.

It isn't really.. there isn't one, and that's on Disney, not manta. People should be happy enough it's getting a steel release at all (if they actually wanted it that is), and stop having a winge.

Tbh we shouldn't really expect discs for a streaming exclusive anyway. It voids the whole business model of a platform USP. Only a tiny percentage of streaming shows end up on disc.

Well, I disagree. It's a streaming release ONLY because D+ is bleeding money and subs and because Disney wants so. But we've seen plenty of so called streamers only that still got release (recently Sandman). End of the day, empty steelbook is empty steelbook. A trinket. Like buying collector's game and not getting an actual game inside. Now, I'm not rattled by this release that much since I never expected Wanda on disc anyway, but it's still a curious moment where many, like myself, immediately first think: But why?

My point was, there's nothing wtf about this release. Manta can't give you a disc if there isn't a disc. At least they've given a steelbook, and that's all that's within their power. A steelbook there was obviously demand for, or it'd still be in stock lol

I'm not getting into a D+ BS debate. I don't like it. I've never liked it. I do understand it though, and it just is what it is tbh.
