Warner have shown that they don't give a toss about collectors and tend to go with the easiest (read cheapest) way.

The artwork is out but not on amazon Canada but on amazon US. So since the US is getting the same artwork as the first canadian release, I'm guessing Canada will have the same artwork as well.

unless future shop start re-releasing their steels which probably wont happen, then i dont really think the originals will devalue that much. Maybe at first but anyway everything seems to be going up and down either cause the market is going crazy with releases and even if its not the same art people still buy them.

So for the ones that were always intending on buying the originals will eventually buy it and for the ones that were never planning on spending the money for them will just go with alternatives. So in my opinion there will still be people willing to pay the premium for the original even if this art was the same.

While I agree in principle that the FS edition will still be valuable, I disagree with the notion that it will not be affected. How many would be purchasers will settle for this version and be happy with it? If it looks like it, it might well be it. Demand will certainly drop while these are in the market and once eBay is flooded with these high valued FS version won't be able to compete. This happened with Hangover 1 & 2, The dark knight, Batman begins, the departed, superman returns, clash of the titans and the list goes on. Effectively dropping prices of the originals. Hangover DE with inside art was once highly coveted. Now you would be lucky to get $20-25 for this. Heck I know cause I picked up the German hangover 2 for $13 brand new ( not re release either ).

Once would be buyers are off the market, the remaining base won't sustain the high valuations. Maybe on the forum but not in the open market. Its a cycle that has been seen before and will happen again.

Your list of "highly desired" steels leaves a lot to be desired lol. Besides those Asian Batman steels, not a single one of them has done anything of note, to my knowledge.

Just check the USA thread. It is the same as the one we will get. It is the exact same artwork as the FS one but has a matte finish instead of a glossy finish.
