no guarantee it will get premium
its not a huge studio movie

I'd bet heavily it will.
Great reception in general, universal high reviews. Horror is big right now. Crap initial steel art. Warner have priors. Bingo. Bingo.
Guaranteed slipcase limited release in 6-10 months.

I'm going to wait. There will be a better release down the line. I'd bet my bollox on it.

It's #1 at the box office and made $70 million just for its opening weekend.
X
made- $15 Million for its entire run.
Pearl made- $10 Million for its entire run.
Maxxxine made- $22 Million for its entire run.
It Follows made- $23 Million for its entire run.

Culturally, this is a big movie.

It's accurate isn't it? Doesn't mean it's better or worse but I wouldn't have even been aware of those Ti West films if not for places like this while Weapons in its first weekend has made what X, Pearl, MaXXXine and It follows made in their entire run.
Oh, well it's a different story for me, I knew of Ti West before this trilogy, and waited for each film, but haven't seen, read, or heard anything about Weapons except for its teaser, which was sent to me by a friend.

Didn't know that, I don't follow box office takings, as usually the more the film grosses, the worse it is, but alright, I guess that sneaky marketing worked. I couldn't care less why children would go somewhere at night and disappear, as I don't particularly like children... :naughty:
But seriously, I just lost all faith in proper good interesting movies of this kind.
People were all excited about Longlegs, including myself, but that turned out one big boring nothing...

I wasn't making any judgement call on the movies themselves. Just their impact at the B.O. /zeitgeist.
I LOVE IT FOLLOWS (I consider one of the best movies of its genre in the last 20 years)
and I really did not like BARBARIAN very much...
But, I will say that like LONGLEGS - it's marketing campaign was fantastic and effective.
I love that the trailers for both gave NOTHING away. (This is how trailers should be)
I hope its good.

Me too! It Follows is the only movie that any time I think about, gives me an uneasy feeling and chills.
And yes, I totally agree their marketing was excellent, that's how it should be done!

I have equal parts excitement and worry about the sequel- THEY FOLLOW.
Sometimes movies are just great one-off stories, and should be left alone.
But- maybe he can pull off a great follow-up. Lol- maybe THAT should be the title! IT FOLLOWS-UP. (IT FOLLOWS SOME MORE?)

Hah, yeah, if it's successful, we could see all of those!
I had a crazy idea that those following bodies could be used for sick entertainment and sports in a universe like The Purge, and a sequel could be Aliens style, with army grunts and guns and stuff... :shipped:

If you missed out in the US, orbitdvd just got some in stock. If you’ve never used them before they are very reliable.
