From Chilean filmmaker Javier Attridge comes Wekufe: The Origin of Evil, a found footage horror film
that has been touted as being Chile’s answer to The Blair Witch Project.

Paula una estudiante de periodismo junto a su novio viajan a Chiloé, una remota isla en la Patagonia del sur de Chile. Para realizar una investigación acerca de la relación que existe entre el gran número de crímenes de origen sexual y los mitos y leyendas que rodean este aislado y misterioso lugar. Pronto se darán cuenta de que detrás de estas leyendas se esconde algo mucho más obscuro que comenzara a manifestarse como un ineludible destino. Poco a poco entenderán que muchas veces es mejor mantener la cordura que descubrir la verdad.

A journalism student travels with her boyfriend to Chiloé, a remote Patagonia island in the south of Chile, to investigate the connection that exists between the great number of sexual related crimes and the myths ‘n’ legends that surround this isolated and mysterious place. Soon they will find out that behind these legends lies something much more obscure that will begin to unravel towards an unavoidable destiny. Gradually they will come to understand that all too often it is best to keep your sanity than to discover the truth.
