Ok guys!

So we have threads for:

- which steel you're waiting for in the mail;

- the rarest steels and such;

- most expensive one.

I think we needed another thread where you can tell the world about the greatest deal you've had for a steel. Could be a rare one or a special promotion or an item found in a pawn shop, anything.

Alright, go nuts and amaze us with your deals so we can be all jealous of you :joy:

I traded in a couple of DVDs, bought Batman Begins and The Dark Knight for $4.99 plus tax each at Best Buy.

-Farewell my Concubine (no booklet) $100

-Batman Begins & The Dark Knight (both Japan) about $80-90 each

-Wanted (German depossed) for 90€

-Ice Age Trilogy for 90€

-Shutter Island (France) 50€

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon for £10-£11 on eBay, as it is one of my all time favs :D

Predators from Discshop Finalnd was also stupidly cheap, like €15 and it had the UK case.

Also I got TDK FS for like $15 off amazon then my aunt bought it over.

I got another type of steel (the Hattori Hanzo kind) for £20 off eBay :D

Recent steals Iron man 1 and 2 from play for £10.99 each
Drive from HMV for £10.99

my best steal is Expendables Media mrkt steelbook for £13.00.

On a recent bulk buy I managed to get opened but excellent condition copies of Thor, zimmer 1408,Halloween, cap america, predators and zombieland all for what worked out to be around £8.50 each!! Not to mention lots of other great steelbooks!! I think these were some of the picks of the bunch though.. It was a bit of a gamble but it paid off :)

I am jealous of you all I'd love steels like Captain America, Thor and Drive but with how high the cost is I doubt I will ever own them unless I get a steel. I am stupid too I was a collector long enough that I could have easily got a Ironman, a Indiana Jones a I am legend for cost back when they first came out but all I collected was G1's so I opted for the G1's on all 3 of those instead of the G2s although both options were available to me.

The closest I have had to steels is drum did that group buy of the Toy Story's for $30 recently and he sold me a set that had some slight dents in the spines which I am good with as I couldn't even find a Toy Story for less than $60 and to get the set for that made me very happy.

Or the first 4 Resident Evils for $7.50 a piece at Wal-mart. That has been about as lucky as I have been.

I would have said X3 at one point as I got that for like $120 I think back when G1 was the craze and they easily went for over $200 but now you could get a copy of it for $20 as no one collects G1 anymore.

australian titles recently

terminator 2 - metal slip - $15!
green zone + hurt locker rare steelbooks - $33!!
saving private ryan - metal slip - $25!

best ever - getting a mint dark knight metal slip in a bulk order on ebay for $79 inc. with some other great titles including a steelbook and another metal slip - bonkers!!

oh and sucker punch sdcc sealed for $50..

GI Joe France for $12
DaVinci Code Germany $10
Minority Report France $11
I am Legend Germany $13
:)

And EVERY steel I ever purchased at retail price at release, LOL, since you know what happens once there OOS and eBay hoarding D-Bags get a hold of any steel.

I was lucky enough to nab a copy of the HMV Steelbook of Drive on ebay for £18 last month. It has a minor mark on the front and unless you look real close you wouldn't notice it. I was delighted as I LOVE this film *sad fanboy alert*

Nothing to shout about but got grindhouse de sealed for 15 gbp and of course the amazon.ca black friday deals were pretty crazy too....

Just picked up a sealed Men In Black 3 China with keyring torch for £16 from eBay recently. Not sure what they go for but I'm sure it's more than that!:D
