Title says it all.
As the title says, it's the one YOU PREFER, not the necessarily "the best". It's YOUR OPINION and you need to respect other's. There can be discussions, but remember, not all needs to agree ;)

Gotta wait for my Blufans lenti to get here. It's been stuck at "Origin Post is preparing shipment" since the 19th...

Same situation. I can't believe we went from three IM steels to having a pick of multiple versions and variations. Pretty cool for me, wanting the Germany/FS art but not really loving either enough to shell out the cash for it. Looking forward to blufans arriving.

I've got the kimchi 1/4 slip sitting in the living room but I haven't opened it yet. Blufans is on its way so I'm not sure yet BUT based on what I've been it'll likely be blufans.

Isn't the V2 Lenti and the 1/3 Slip the same STEELBOOK? Its important to remember that the age-old argument is which steelbook is best, not which package is best. Neither the Play.com nor the FS version came with slips so the poll should only have V1 and V2 as Blufans options. Just my opinion of course...

As of now, with my reckoning, its 13 to 12, FS to V2.

I thought about this before finalizing the poll and since a LOT of collectors keep theirs sealed, I told myself that we'll consider different packaging in the poll.

I'm kind of in agreement. The v1 and v2 are different, the v1 is misprinted and mis-embossed isn't it? However, as you say, the v2 and the 1/4 slip steelbooks themselves are identical. I'm just adding the two figures together for those ones.

I understand the whole 'keeping them sealed' argument, but that for me counts more towards which is the best overall package. I voted for the v2 because it's the best looking steelbook of all those listed. In terms of design, I prefer the Play version over the FS one, but the FS is 2 discs so the better package overall between the two.

I know slips are very important to some collectors, but I'm not sure they should count in a poll (unless it's a best slips one), it would be like Target and Wallmart steelbooks getting separate listings just because they have different stickers on them.

I love the FS one because of the blu-ray banner at the top. I'm the nutter who actually likes those banners. Its more a nostalgia thing for me, a throwback to the golden age of steelbooks. Also I prefer that shade of red for Iron Man.

Even though I don't have it in hand (yet) the embossing and gloss on the Blufans V2 looks pretty awesome.

Personally, it's a toss-up between FS and BF V1 for aesthetics. Ultimately, value is king for me and BF V1 is an unbeatable value right now.... so that's where my vote went.

I wonder how many are voting based on more than which one looks the best, but rather which they own or which is rarest/most valuable.

If none of these existed, but were mock-ups to vote for the winner to be produced, I wonder if the results would be the same. Would you really choose one with a blue banner (FS) over one without? Would you really choose one with a border (FS/Play) over one without? Would you choose one with the title too high on the spine (v1) over one that was centralised (v2)?

Food for thought.

I'm genuinely surprised.

While it's pretty close between the FS and v2/1/4 combined (as they're the same I count them as 1), I don't think the FS is all that. If I saw both of those designs on a shelf I know which one I'd buy.

Back in the day the FS version was the best thing since sliced bread. Not just because it was the only one available, but it's a good quality steel, great finish, colour and weight. The blue banner and thick border have always bothered me, but we were used to those at the beginning.

Now it seems dated (to me), and the v2 has a very similar design but without all the bits I don't like. I own the Play version, and while I'm not keen on the border (the inside doesn't bother me on any steelbook), I like that it isn't just half of Iron Man's face. I voted for the v2 anyway, but I wouldn't bother getting it unless it was really cheap. I prefer the new Zavvi Avengers Assemble too, but again, I don't replace steelbooks with another unless I really hate the one I have/had (white Star Trek with blue banner for the black one, Korean IM2 with the blue banner for the Play version).

Basically I guess I just hate blue banners.

@tenderheartbear I hear what your saying. If they were all mock ups then the result might be different. As I can only speak for myself I would still go for the FS one. It's got more colour than the BF ones, so more in keeping with the film. I don't mind the border. Also, as stated in a previous post, I'm the only insane person who loves blu-banners
