Browsing through my extensive SteelBook collection, I notice the same studio names cropping up time and time again - Some more than others. Recently I have noticed an increase in the amount of Lionsgate and Studio Canal releases infiltrating my collection, with their unique spines which make them stand out from the rest. Likewise, Eureka and Arrow are both notable for their sub-sets, and now also the Disney / Pixar releases which I am guessing a lot of people are choosing to keep together
I started off by organising my small Blu-Ray SteelBook collection in release date order. At the time this was easy and manageable as there were very few releases to contend with. When PLAY.com started offering waves, I began to store them by keeping the waves together. As my collection grew, I decided to split them up and store them aphabetically. However, this has become increasingly difficult due to the sheer amount of SteelBooks being released on a weekly basis, so I have reverted to storing them in release order just for ease
That said, I have started picking out certain titles and storing them together as a "set". For example, the Eureka Masters Of Cinema releases, Disney / Pixar releases, and Arrow releases. Lately I have begun to store the Studio Canal and Lionsgate releases together as well
By doing this, it has become apparent that certain studios seem to take more pride in their releases than others. Some seem to stick to a set style and finish throughout the range, with some offering a "cheap & cheerful" selection (Studio Canal, Lionsgate, Touchstone etc), whereas other studios will make more of an effort (Eureka, Arrow, Disney etc). Some studios tend to offer a mixed bag of products, depending on the title - FOX and Universal are two prime examples, and there doesn't seem to be any consistency with them
So I pose the question: Which studio / studios do you think offer the best SteelBook releases?
I'm not referring to which film titles you think are the best, but rather which SteelBook releases are designed better than others, and which studios are more consistent than others when it comes to quality
*NB: MGM aren't fussy who they work with. Most commonly seen with FOX, but I also found several titles where they appear with Paramount or Warner Bros
