And why is your "collecting" affected by the steelbook being available (again) for others to buy also? Collecting shouldn't be reduced to buying as many valuable collectibles as possible and seeing their value increase, but to buy great movies in beautiful special packaging to be enjoyed. Just my 2 cents....
also, i got this today, from my amazon Es. order, in great shape! and this is a awesome steelbook!
Some people just buy steelbooks to keep them sealed, obsess over them, and hope that they will pay for their kids' college funds in 15 years. Others, like me, buy them to open and enjoy them and then go and buy stocks to pay for my kids' college funds.
I sort of started the same way in 2011 and bought tons steelbooks with a re-sale value and kept them sealed and whenever I saw an opportunity to sell it for a big profit I did. Eventually I realized that more and more films that I really like were getting a steelbook treatment and since I always loved the uniformity of all steelbooks worldwide being the same size and shape (which annoyed and still annoys the s*** out of me with Amarays and Digipacks/Digibooks) and how fantastic they look on the shelves, I started collecting again and had to rebuy hundreds of steelbooks again.... Back to Whiplash - perfect movie, perfect looking seelbook - everybody should own one and if for that it needs to be rereleased over and over again, so be it!
I'll have to save money from my dayjob to pay for my kids' college then and not rely on somebody being interested in a movie in a steelbox in a (probably) outdated format by the time this happens (my kids are 9 and 7)
