Another director/actor chosen disaster after Only God Forgives and Machete kills. It's hard to believe how a talented person skilled in filmmaking could be so clueless regarding art. It's laughable how bad this is. At least we can't blame Zavvi for this screw up.

I've gone ahead and cancelled my order now.

The studios should start hiring people who actually buy these things to be in charge of the art. There's a reason I love SK releases so much and it's not just because of "the paper extras". It's getting a quality product from start to finish and never keeping us in the dark along the way. They listen to what their customers want, something all other retailers/distributors/studios rarely do, and it goes a long way. There's a reason they always get my money and I only buy 5% of the releases that the UK and NA is slinging these days.

With that being said though, I'm happy Mondo is on board now as they seem to be taking notes from our Asian friends and actually caring a little bit.

And just to keep my post a little more relevant, major pass on this one as well.

It's not so much the artwork as it is the price. £20 for this??
I'd pay £20 for The Green Mile or Catch Me If You Can, but this? Don't get me wrong, it was a good film, but not worth 20 quid.

I don't want it. At least not with that price tag. I'd buy it if it drops to a tenner, though

This competition should have been artwork submitted by fans and then a poll to vote were fans vote on the top 5 artwork entered
Then from the top 5 choices the director could have picked a winner


That way it would have been at least the choices selected was liked and the director having final say on the winner out of the top 5

These competitions run should have some voting by the fans to at least give a director the most liked choices to pick a winner from and that way he knows the winning choice will already been liked

Also why did Sony use empire for these competitions when they would be more suited to HDN to run a competition as HDN is more suited for steelbooks

You cant blame Zavvi on this one as its a Sony release and a competition run by empire magazine
When I think of steelbooks empire magazine is not suited in my opinion for steelbook competitions
Its a general film magazine not a dedicated steelbooks magazine

I know zavvi don't have a say but surely someone could just say hang on all our exclusives that show zavvi to the world are mostly wank. Why don't we listen to our customers and give them what we want .
