The more I look at it the more I like it. The director (and the fellow who designed the artwork of course) must be quite a fan of that Saul Bass graphic design style. And Whiplash itself has a Hitchcock vibe to it... with the sheer intense suspense of it all. The art is almost like a companion piece to Saul Bass' Vertigo artwork :)

Cancelled too. Such a shame as I thought the film was incredible. Will pick it up if there's a price drop or better art (which shouldn't be too hard) from elsewhere around the globe.

Whiplash actually sounds like it could have been the title of a Hitchcock film.

yeah, he also copied the typeface style with the slash through the middle as seen in Spycho

i havent seen the film so i cant comment if the art is a good match. but im guessing the lead character gets his arm broken at some point

Cymbal with blood splatter, my Vote as well,,,
Unless this "stolen blood arm" has travelled back in time and is a remake with Peter Sellers?
That could work...

I don't hate it but there were better and yeah, even with 10% off I don't fancy paying £18.89 for it. Will wait and see how cheap it gets, though. Learning from not waiting for Only God Forgives.

OK, have yet to see the film, but based on the trailers and clips I've seen, it's a film i'm anxious to see, but I'm not that impressed by the artwork selected, this 'POP ART' style which has infested the steelbooks of late has put me off them, I will likely keep my order for this until I see if anyone else releases better artwork.
