I asked about packaging and they responded. They told me from now on, steelbooks will be sent out in small plastic carrier bags. Which are covered in some kind of lubricant making it 4 times as easy to drop.

good ol' zavvi they are the only folks to help collectors of damaged goods. getting worried i might receive a mint copy. you guys are just selfish wanting everything in perfect condition

I fail to see what the difference is between The Hut and Zavvi. Why have the same company with two different names?

Because if one messes up and it's reputation becomes tarnished, they have the other to fall back on. Finacial restrictions and cut-backs is another reason.
This is not uncommon.
An example was Game and Gamestation in the UK.
After admin (and restructuring) only Game was left.

Also, you will find that one is flagship and takes more attention, ie - Zavvi or Game than the other, ie The hut or Gamestation (although the decision makers can change allegiances either way,if they choose).

I ordered 2 of this title just for the reason alone hearing that their packaging sucks. Hopefully it works out. If not, not a big deal and they will have a big mess of returns.

I ordered a game through them ( hitman absolution ) .. no hitches
came in a padded envelope. no damage
I must say the shipping was real fast ( even though ...it may have come from Hong Kong) it seemed to fast less than 10 days ...

i hope that zavvi knows the responsibilty it now carries to us steelbook collectors .. if not .. hopefully they will learn ...everyone had to learn
did any retailer maybe besides amazon get it right the first time?

Don't worry, that's standard zavvi practice! You can also expect regular updates apologising for the delay! I get them with pretty much every pre-order

For the next two months you'll also get personalised updates (usually with the wrong name or a HTML typo in place of your name) telling you that they're sorry for the delay in sending it to you (despite it not being released yet) and then you'll get emails telling you that it's out of stock, then some to say it's back in stock, and then they'll apologise for the delay again.

Expect it to arrive in October.

Then you'll get another email apologising for the delay in December.

And to risk to lose this or to pay double on e-bay!
I think this steelbook it's worth the risk!!

I've had plenty of experience of Zavvi in the past to not trust them, esp. with something as fragile as a Steelbook. Sure it's my loss, I fully accept that, but I'd rather do without than chance it with them. I look forward to all the pictures people will take when theirs arrive, hopefully in good nick

But lets be a little more possitive,If you have concerns re-posting then get in contact with them and let them know..just give em a chance..

I've used Zavvi 5 times for normal bluray editions and once for Demons 1 +2 (steelbook). Apart from long time processing and dispatching the orders I haven't had any issues with them, everything got delivered safe and sound. IMHO It's definitely worth giving them a try, and missing this edition is madness.
