The more that serious collectors hold off buying the more this will rise in the long term. Everyone wants this, that will leave many who want the best steels then having to fight over the few that remain floating about.

...and as it is Zavvi's flagship steelbook exclusive and Disney needed an alternative to HMV, you can almost guarantee that neither of them will want to make this new relationship look tacky by releasing the steel elsewhere. They have got off to a great start. Lets hope they keep it that way.

It wouldn't surprise me if this gets a release in other countries sooner or later. I'd hold off and see how it plays out if I were after one. :)

I don't think it will, at least not to this high standard. Disney don't release many Steelbooks and re-releases aren't something they do at all, at least I haven't noticed any. The closest they've come was a few titles in the German wave were previously released in Canada/USA.

Actually, the first canada disney steelbook wave (Nightmare, ratatouille, bug's life, so on... came after their respective releases. I remember how  i was cause i'd already picked most of them up. They can most certainly do it again,.. and get away with it too.

The Zavvi exclusive Finding Nemo steelbook was originally a viva metal box released in the US/CA (please correct me if I'm wrong). We're seeing more and more re-releases worldwide now, and Disney like their money, so I'll be shocked if they don't jump aboard and follow trend.

Obviously I would like to be wrong though and see this remain a UK exclusive. :D

Got my both copies yesterday in mint condition thankfully. Looks great, although would've preffered it without the 25th anniversary writing and the title embossed but still great. Also a big thanks to Wreck for helping sort out the great new packaging from Zavvi!

The us viva metal box is significantly different to the steelbook zavvi are releasing. the inside art and back are completly different. the cover art is pretty much the same but the way the us version is more zoomed in shall we say means you can easily tell the two apart.

if anything the uk one is a carbon copy of the german version. but they were announced around the same time, so i wouldn't class that as a rerelease.

admittedly disney do like their money, but when it comes to limited run items, they tend to keep it that way. eg most of the 'special packaging' releases they've done e.g sleeping beauty, beauty and the beast. haven't been rereleased and i doubt they will.

When considering there's been no mention of any other roger rabbit steelbook. and that the film is getting its initial blu ray release around the world i think at least for the foreseeable future this will remain a worldwide exclusive...well hopefully

Limited to 3,000.

47 +(3 international) sold on Eb last 7 days, not including multiples, 58 listed at moment, not including multiples which a lot are, 5 available, 10 available, more than 10 available...

Thats just at the moment or last week, can at least bump that up to 400-500 copies sold or selling online recently, 1 sixth of availability. Bump that up to over 1,000 in the next 4 weeks, maybe even 1,500.

Half of all made will be sold through Eb. Statistically.

That leads us to believe anyone buying multiple copies, 2 or more, are statistically more likely to be selling the extra, even though its really for their brother, mother, friend, dogs cats second uncle.

...except my 2nd copy which was for my dogs cats second uncle.

I bought 1 copy. Kinda wished i bought an extra copy for my mums dogs uncle who knows a squid who is friends with a rabbit who knows a dog.
