They usually do use the steelbook boxes but occasionally - if you're unlucky - they switch back to the old style card mailers.

Ouch that's not cool. Well when I got my Willow a few weeks back it had the same scratches you spoke of in the back and the shrink wrap looked like a cat was packaged with the steelbook on it's trip to the US.

Received my 2 copies today, both were perfect no spine slashes or defects that I can see without opening them up and checking under the j-card!

My copy has been dispatched today, always go with Amazon if I can because their packadging is normally better (except for Play before) an their customer service is second to none when it comes to replacements but all this talk of people countlessly recieving damaged copies with slashed spines and dents and inconsistent packadging make me wary. The sudden influx of stock makes me wonder if they are just reselling damaged stock and hoping some people will just settle with it

I've just sent a fifth damaged copy back, so for me it's been completely impossible to get an undamaged one. I think I've been especially unlucky though, as some other guys here have had no problems. In fairness, two of the copies I received weren't scratched but instead arrived dented due to poor packaging.

It does seem as though Amazon had a bad batch of these, but it's not clear how many copies were affected.
