That's how I feel every time, I realize this or that movie is 15, 20, 25 years old. Everything from the second half of the 90's, my prime viewing teenage years, is celebrating its 25th anniversary nowadays.

I still believe that 25 year old things are from the 70's..
At least we're not alone, check this sketch out (if I can link it properly):
LOL. This is so me.

I was kickin' around the homestead the other day, eating Funyuns, and thinking about how, in the 70's I'd look at a film from the 50s as ancient and old, and yet here we are, and its the 2020s, and the 2000's don't seem so long ago. And yet at the same time, Gladiator and Cast Away came out in 2000, and those films are so ingrained in my psyche it seems like they've always been around.

Anyone else hoping for a 4K release of No country for old men?

We've had a couple of steelbooks over the years but this is a movie that deserves the full premium treatment, 4K included....
Another film I haven't watched.
Please don't tell me it is a must see, I already have too much on the list this weekend lol

What??? Holy cow, man.

I won't tell you that it's a must see, but seriously, it's a must see.

Next thing you know you'll be saying you've never seen To Live and Die in L.A.
Nope, not seen that either.
At this rate,I think I need to call in sick from work next week and just watch films lol

After 'they' ruined a few notable films for me with their 'color grading' and HDR, I'm not hoping for any films to come out in 4K. If I can't just have a higher resolution, higher bitrate, better sounding release, then I don't need it.

Oh, so it's not just for us from the 90's, thinking 70's were 'old and ancient'.
I started collecting in 1996, Dirty Harry was a 25 year old film then. And now Pulp Fiction is older than that! Seems crazy.

Another bit, btw, about how 2050 is now closer, than your 1950s:

Extremely random question of the day time.

Ok so my favourite thing to do on a Friday night is have a movie night. Under ideal circumstances it starts with a good comedy, bourbon and some nice snacks and a decent frozen pizza. Maybe even like a nice IPA to go with the pizza. Then I usually like to transition to a good action movie and then maybe a drama before putting on something I can fall asleep to.

Anyone else got a good Friday ritual?

My Friday ritual after work is the intention to start with a movie night, briefly check on HDN then straight to sleep. Your's is better

I'm using evening's now to clear TV backlog: previously completed Harley Quinn S2, just completed His Dark Materials S2, moving to Fargo S3 next, and then 70's & 80s Dr Who to do... with one or two episodes an evening.

I gotta get around to final season of Walking Dead, but as that got onto Disney+ that's a problem at home and also House of the Dragon. I want to check out Samaritan on Prime too, so perhaps movie night will be on for me this week or soon.

My tv backlog is unclearable lol.

That's a good idea. Think it is something I need to do as evidently there is a lot I have missed lol
Yeah, I've just noticed that 3 out of 4 purchases are editions of movies I already have, because of the dire situation with new stuff these last 15 years, so I thought money would better be spent on even regular releases of films from the 80's and 90's, where I 'know' all the faces - growing up watching those actors' movies - and so even something average from those days brings much more joy.
That was a long sentence, I remember teachers telling me that in school.

Depends on my options but usually I plan to go the gym then watch a film whilst eating dinner.
What usually happens, I go the the gym later than planned which means I eat dinner later than planned amd fall asleep half way through whatever film I put on lol

Dark materials is one of my favourite current series, partly because I really enjoyed the books.
I am glad they did a much better job of the series than the joke of a film. Can't wait for season 3 later this year
