Extremely random question of the day time.

Ok so my favourite thing to do on a Friday night is have a movie night. Under ideal circumstances it starts with a good comedy, bourbon and some nice snacks and a decent frozen pizza. Maybe even like a nice IPA to go with the pizza. Then I usually like to transition to a good action movie and then maybe a drama before putting on something I can fall asleep to.

Anyone else got a good Friday ritual?

my Friday ritual, if in, is to do a scaled back version of that with maybe one film, usually an old one (Universal monsters from the 30s, or indeed any monster film, often a film i've seen before, etc). :) on saturdays, if we're in, tend to do 2 films and an episode of - see below. on a regular basis, my mate comes round who i have spent 15 years so far educating on cinema (their words, and request). for those nights we'll do 5 or on occasion 6 films, lunchtime Sat through to early Sun, usually a real range from classic, James Bond /MCU/franchise movie, animation, documentary, comedy, etc, keep it mixed and fresh with short films and web clips. usually around 14 hours.

Looking at that Iron Man figure made me wonder what, if any, collectibles my fellow ninja's might have.

I've mentioned before my extensive JAWS collection, which was featured in an issue of Horrorhound magazine! An excellent publication to be sure, but I also have a Necco B&W Wolfman with exchangable Larry Talbot head! And yes....it's still sealed. lol.

Also have some nice collectible screenplays for House of Frankenstein and Frankenstein Meets the Wolfman. Not to mention my extensive, and I do mean extensive, monster magazine collection, to include the run of Marvel/Curtis Planet of the Apes comic mags of the 70's.

i am trying not to get dragged into this hobby, but it's a challenge! i only have Groot (Hot Toys), The Iron Giant (Hot Toys), Talos [Ray Harryhausen] (Hot Toys) and forthcoming Scarlett Witch (from the end of WandaVision, Hot Toys). plus a list of additional ones i have no right to consider, currently being considered.

Question of the 'night':

Which TV series you're watching right now, and how many concurrently?

just one at the moment - re-doing all of 'Miami Vice," currently mid-season 2. my Significant Other never watched it - to my surprise, they are really enjoying it. prior to that was running through Disney+ MCU series, and before that was the 60's series "The Prisoner" (superb) and "Good Omens" (likewise).

That is some seriously good film watching skills.
I considering making time to watch 2 films and a few episodes of something over the course of a weekend as being a good weekend. I think it is fair to say, in comparison, I am on rookie numbers lol.

This weekend I have watched top gun maverick, the latest episode of house of dragons and an episode of raising kanan. I am about to watch Nope. I consider this a solid weekend but obviously not lol

cool, it's all good, and that is a solid weekend! the big Film Nights are usually quite some way apart, like every 3 months. i usually get by on a 'Friday' or a 'Saturday' a week. :)

I enjoyed the film, it wasn't amazing but was enjoyable, probably won't watch it again other than for a easy Sunday film or background noise.
I always go with the extended version though, it just feels like I am being robbed of minutes if there is a longer version available lol
I still need to see it. Never got around to it at the cinema. Be waiting on my box set now probably.

Welcome to JinxyKattes question of the day.

You are hosting a dinner party but for a very select group of people. You can only invite upto 10 people. They are all characters played by 1 actor.

So who are you gonna invite.

Obviously everyone can answer, I just knlw those two have expressed an interest in my questions lol.
Sorry for the lateness in responding. This is a challenging question.

I could list a bunch of characters by one actor and settle right on in, but if I really think about it, and take to account we are partying with fictional characters, I'd invite only Samantha (Nicole Kidman) from Bewitched. Then if I wanted someone else there, like Humphry Bogart or Vincent Price, she could make it happen.

I need a question for today hmm. You can now upload a person's skills via a Matrix like port. What characters skills would you get first to help in your day to day life?

I mean every one wants John Wicks skill set but would it actually be of any practical use to most of us?

I'd jack myself to have skills like (Marvel's) Magneto, look what fun I'd have with iron filings and wouldn't need to be under the table with a small magnet either

I'll be settling in at some point tonight watching Jurassic Park: Dominion. Picked it up in steel at Walmart the other day.

I've heard some pretty good reviews for this. I've also heard some not so positive reviews.

My question is this:

Do I watch the theatrical version? or do I just cut to the chase and watch the extended version first?
Did you dislike the movie so much that you haven’t commented about it? :hilarious:

Actually John Wick's skill set would be useful to me. I'm getting old and isn't as agile, as I used to be.

I'd have liked the ability to teleport, like Hayden Christensen's character in Jumper, or/and Dane DeHaan's superpowers from Chronicle.
Basically everything to be able to steal, murder, and wreck havoc without repercussion.

Oh, you mean you'd use your once in a lifetime finger-snapper to punish little me? Gotcha, I'm honored, but should've rather used it to snap all the far lefties out of existence... :naughty:

No. Sorry. I've just got a lot of things going on right now.

I did watch the extended version and really enjoyed it. For a movie that's almost 3 hours it moved rather quick. Excellent pacing pretty much throughout the film. Quality dirt bags on hand for the offing as well!!!

And finally.....FINALLY.....the big guy delivers in a major way. Not going to spoil it, but if you've seen it, you may know what I'm talking about. Always loved that guy as a kid. It was awesome.

I'll be watching this again.

Why is everyone trying to upload superpowers into their brain lol. Like you can't download telekinesis, so far as I know lol.

I've also been giving more consideration to yesterdays question, because the name Kurt Russell keeps popping in my head.

How cool would it be to rock and roll with this guest list

Snake
MacReady
Randy Miller
Reno Hightower
Jack Burton
Cash
Captain Ron
Wyatt Earp
Kurt Russell (played by Kurt Russell in Jimmy Glick)
and last but not least...
ELVIS

Hey, you're the one that 'offered' such a thing, plus you can't download anything into your brain anyway.

I was actually joking, I would most likely, after devastating a couple of city blocks, get bored, and start helping people like Robin Hood or that crew in Leverage.
