Seeing as there are a few of us that are quite responsive, I thought I'd pose this collector's question here regarding one of our favorite resources, Film Arena.

When an item is offered, and you click "I want to buy", it seems it's secured. Of course, most of us know it's not and getting it is solely dependent on the numero's desperado's who own the coveted 'numbers'.

However.....

They currently have a few items that show two distinct options:

There is a 'preorder' button, and then a 'buy' button, where you can literally just go ahead and buy it right now. Literally go to teh cart and pay for it. So.........

1. What does this mean to those who clicked "I want to Buy" ages ago? Have those copies been set aside or do you still go to last place in lieu of those who show up now and 'buy'?
2. Why is there a preorder and a buy button?

Also....I did The Thing Group Buy, but wanted 2 to give one to my buddy Mike for Christmas. Do you know if you're allowed to GB and also order from FAC? Not sure if it's a 1 copy rule or 1 copy per order rule.

They only used to have that I Want to Buy button on preorders, or sold out items, as a way to get on a waiting or reserve list, and promptly sent out links to pay for items once allotted 3 days for 'fancy pants' elites with penthouse numbers ran out.
What's going on now, why it's activated at tye same time, I don't know, but if you can buy it now, and pay now, I'd do that. Plus you can add something else to cart, to share that shipping charge between items, while I Want To orders were always just for that one item separately.
My friend orders 3-4 of the same FAC, like The Thing last time, in one order, one cart. Two by the numbers owned, and two extra, just because he asked and they're available, so no problem with that.
They'll be happy if you buy 10.

Yes, I'm one of those people hating, animal loving 'freaks'. I'd rather a dozen people die, than one horse, for example.
Don't worry mate, I am one of those too.
I just find animals will generally either want to play with you or leave you alone unless raised otherwise and they don't even know the meaning of the words malicious intent.
I am also a vegetarian which apparently adds to my 'freak' status apparently but I can more than hold my own when those discussions come up lol

Ok time for Jinxys stupid question of the day, pre coffee and slept badly. So don't expect it to be great lol.

What awesome car from what movie would you have. No Delorean and certain no time machine. And you can't have KITT either.

I see you are trying to keep those loopholes closed on this one lol.
OK, so if I am not allowed a time travelling car it would have to be the batmobile

Hey, you took away all the options...

Alright, I'd have Nick Fury's bulletproof Suburban - best sequence in the whole MCU:

Tony Soprano's truck I already had.
I just like to walk into my cars, not bend over and lay down in them. :D

On a serious note, I'd really like to know how the Film Arena site actually works. I've used the I want to buy and and was successful for about a year then nothing. I've gone for Karel's GB when luck enough to avoid the site and knowing that there would be no chance as I don't have an allocated number.

I was surprised about The Thing being a buy it now as I did get lucky secured by Karel's GB beforehand. I wouldn't worry too much on securing a second one from the site.

What about the submarine car Wet Nellie from The Spy Who Loved Me...

What questions do you have left?
Basically first it's like a VIP period for collector's numbers, with the print run now half, or a third of those (2000 were allocated), which usually lasted 3 days, but this last time after a long break they made it a whole week. People choose to buy or reject.
And then they put any copies left for everyone else on the site, like any other webstore.
Only that I Want to Buy thing stopped working, I guess, they just don't bother with individual orders and wait lists, putting everything out on the site.
