WOW! I can see this has been one hell of a heated GB, so glad I chose to go with Manta, think my blood pressure would rise dramatically if I went for this one!
Really on the fence on this whole premium membership GB thingy.
On the one hand, I see
@Actarus point, not sure about the premium members being true members comment though, plenty of non premium members here greatly contribute to the site so I think it would be unfair to discriminate against them. I'm only a premium member because I won a competition, which I'm grateful for, but if I wasn't, I feel that I have contributed for the 4 years I've been on the site, and have spent a LOT of money on GBs and many other non premium members have too. So I think that's a tough one to give premium members preferential treatment.
That being said,
@Actarus is on to something, there are some new members & long existing members who are non premium who do seem to just lurk for the GBs only and never really contribute to the forums at all and you can bet that some, not all, are on a scalp. I don't want to get into the whole scalping thing, it's been done to death now, but we all know it happens.
Maybe the best solution is........ just to leave it alone how it is. To me it's part of the collecting game, you win some and you lose some. Thrill of the chase and all that.
Besides, do people really want to end up broke, this games getting expensive!
If a preferential system is to be put in place, I'm sure HDN would find a way to make a fair go at it for everyone, I'm sure the guys would be able to see on the background of all members both premium and non premium who contribute to the site, both in money terms and general input.
