Thanks - cancelled my pre-order, there's no way I'm paying almost 40 EUR for one that looks the same as HMV's but with an ugly banner across the top!
When will French steelbook makers learn to use J-Cards for stupid things like that? *sigh*
i agree with you, but i'm not sure it will be on steelbook: same happened with last Wolverine steelbook: red banner on azFR pics, but steelbook clean, so let's hope :ohno:

Either way I still don't like the artwork so would have cancelled - the reason I pre-ordered the French Steelbook in the first place was because it might have been different to HMV's (which I didn't like).

Looks pretty cool :wow: May pick this one up when there's a price drop from EUR 34,99

And it's releasing one month earlier than the UK one

Why do people state facts on things they don't know about :( ?

The Transporter trilogy, the Dollar trilogy, the Predator trilogy, Hot Shots 1 & 2, Epic, The Croods, The Wolverine, Rio, Ice Age 4, Avatar, Life of Pi, Titanic, Prometheus Turbo : none of these recent Fox France steelbooks have had a banner on top, why the frak would X-Men have one?

People said the same thing ("boooo, banner, 'nuff said") in the 300 2 thread and it turned out to have no banner at all (and Warner was a more obvious candidate to having steelbooks with banners than Fox, since they used to do it up until late 2012).

But it's easier to get angry, I understand :).

I will wait until release date and in-hand pictures (though I will keep my pre-order because I'm sure there won't be any banner) before I complain about a non-existant banner.

I will wait on the German ones, I hope they differ from this and the uk ones, I just don't like them and I won't buy the metal pak either! I have my fingers crossed for the Germans!

I only hope it won't have german title :wtf:

300:roae
was a surprise, since all previuos WB french releases were G1 with horrible banner on front (excluding the first movie of The hobbit trilogy: 3D steelbook perfect, 2D steelbook with banner, latest WB steelbook in France before 300:roae) :)
no surprise we all thought G1 with banner

Looks to me like you're stating something as a 'fact' for something you don't know about there ;)

Even if this steelbook doesn't have a banner, there's no way I'd have kept the pre-order as I simply don't like the artwork and it's too expensive if it's going to be (seemingly) the same-ish as the one released everywhere else.

It was stupid of them to put a banner that looks like it's part of the steelbook on the artwork if it doesn't have one, as clearly it's caused people to cancel orders due to the fact they (not necessarily Fox, but French Steelbooks in general) have a history of having done so in the past.

True, but given their recent track record, I'm willing to give Fox the benefice of the doubt (something that, for instance, Warner France hadn't necessarily earned with their G1-sized steelbooks until The Hobbit, and now 300).

I'm not that fond of the art chosen either. Given how Fox France does plenty of lenticulars, I would have hoped for something along those lines :

I love the art. I won't be getting the Fr edition but probably a german/UK one if USA doesn't get it. Lets hope the back art is a Sentinel from the future to complete the steel.

Yes looks are deceiving until you physically have it or someone takes an actual photo of the steel!! "To quick to judge"!!

The film was released in Germany with the title "X-Men Zukunft ist Vergangenheit". The standard Blu-ray and DVD releases are already up for pre-order on amazon.de and bear the German title.

Also Fox's German steelbook releases tend to be identical to their UK counterparts, other than the use of German titles where the film was released with the title translated into German. The perfect example being "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" where the German steelbook was identical to the UK one but bore the title "Planet der Affen Prevolution".

I think anyone waiting on the German steelbook release, hoping for something different, may be disappointed.
