Hells yeah! Finally my generation gets a movie about what we expected to happen!
I lived through those times, and can confirm that everything was like that - don't know how we survived. :D

Yeah this has peaked my interest. I remember the party I was at on the Eve of Y2K. A family one. Wasn’t as fun as this one looks. Nice to see a horror comedy come from A24. Looks unique

Well, it's not a great movie, but it rides out on its nostalgia elements.
Excellent '99 bits like dial-up, AoL, old computer interface, messaging, pixelated video, mp3 player, burning a cd, flash website games, slow loading porn pics, vhs, Nintendo 64 cartridges, etc, with awesome songs here and there, which I wish were given more playtime. Main excitement comes from seeing Fred Durst - donning his iconic red hat is an epic moment - and Alicia Silverstone smoke some weed.
So all of that barely makes it OK, because otherwise it's very silly and unrealistic, with some unnecessarily bloody scenes at the beginning, and a very bland cast of young actors I had no interest or sympathy for.
