I don't know if it's just me noticing things that aren't actually there- but does Germany have an obsession with Japanese films?
Because it seems to me that Germany is the most likely place where Steelbooks of Japanese movies are released- moreso than them actually being released in Japan.

Uchuu Senkan Yamato and Shin Godzilla are two examples that come to mind.

I dont mind this at all. I actually welcome it. Not many countries doing it right now. My only issue is that they dont usually have Eng subs and/or dub. Which means i'd have to buy the steelbook (or any special edition) + regular Amaray from US or CA.

Oh, no- I don’t MIND it at all.
I’m just curious as to WHY Germany.
Is there a reason Germany likes Japanese films so much?

Because I hardly ever see Anime’s or films that I like from japan get released as Amaray’s in the US.

True. I guess i'm curious as to why Germany as well...

But at least US gets some Amarays. Sometimes, we dont even get the ones US gets. I dont know what kind of anime and films you like but yea if it's not picked up by Funi or Viz then yea, it's rare. I had to import the Death Note Quadrilogy from Thailand.

Lately though, i noticed our BestBuy online Anime section getting bigger every month. However, the stocks are always low. If you want something you better preorder. Most of them go OOS on release day and never to be seen again.

Yeah- I know what you mean.
I'm not a big fan of most things that Funimation seems to get- I really disliked Shingeki no Kyojin because it seems geared to be made FOR American Audiences- and Anime's that are big in the U.S. generally tend to be the type of anime that I dislike- Naruto, Dragonball, and One Piece to name a few.

The Anime's that I really like are
The Android Kikaider: The Animation (Not released on Bluray)
and Uchuu Senkan Yamato: 2199 (Not picked up by funimation).

I also enjoy a lot of Tokusatsu- but I'm screwed because those are ONLY released on BluRay in Japan and, as much as I love Kamen Rider- I just can AFFORD to drop $500 per season.

The 3 YOUR NAME steelbooks (Germany / UK etc. / Japan) courtesy NextstageSquall

Between the two steelbooks w/ similar artwork the differences are obvious including the more complete back and inside art on the German as well as the excessive print.
The difference in finish between the two TBC.
