I've received 1 out of 2 of my Cinderella copies. Unfortunately it is spine slashed

Hopefully my second copy is fine.

Zavvi has sent me a Replacement Copy for the slashed copy! Now if only my 2nd copy and replacement copy arrive minty...

Replacement Despatched !!!!!!!

Received my today and thought it was mint, but there is a faint spine slash :(

Luckily you can't really notice it in less your looking for it, so i'll just keep it, not worth the hassle to send it back and would probably end up with one worse anyway.

Fortunately my copy was sitting under the edge flap of the box and managed to escape the spine slasher.
Mine arrived without spine slashes too. Sorry to hear about others who ended up with them. Zavvi's doing really well with this and Bambi. Both steelbooks have great artwork and finally some great finishes.

I love the finish and the colours on this one. However, I do think the artwork itself could have been much better. Bambi is just so much better imo, I don't know why they decided to redesign Cinderella as the ice queen. Also, I have to say, I steel prefer the digibook, as the artwork is more busy, which takes the attention away from Cinderella's strange design here.

Also, why are Cinderella never shown in her regular outfit on covers? It's less spectacular, I guess that's why. Even still, it has more personality imo

My third copy of Cinderella arrived today . . . .

Absolute mint - so there are still some good copies in stock, so don't despair; just keep trying guys.

To recap. First copy - badly dented in the mail.

Second copy - spine slash you can even feel.

Third time lucky!!! Thank you Zavvi.

They do listen if you keep at it.

p.s. Has anyone considered this spine slashing may be deliberate?

Totally agree.

This steel looks awesome. I am trying to place an order right now for it but that darn spiderman sticker offer is making it not work for US shipping.

Add me to the list of "Freddy Krueger touched my steelbook."

It is quite unfortunate to see this happen, especially as it is 100% avoidable. Who ever is responsible for overseeing this stage in the fulfillment process should have a chit chat with Mr. or Mrs. Slasher. There is a very simple remedy, don't give that person a box cutter- if they don't know how to properly cut tape without damaging the products inside the container, they should not be doing so. This must be costing Zavvi a pretty penny, as I am sure most if not everyone who received a damaged copy will contact CS about an exchange or partial refund. In Zavvi's defense, I have never had an issue with unhelpful customer service. It really does pain me, as I think these two releases (Bambi & Cinderella) were putting Zavvi back on the right track. If they can fix these quality control issues, they can continue to have my business. ;)
