Today, Bethesda Softworks and id Software have announced new information regarding DOOM‘s original soundtrack.
According to the press release, the recipient for Best Music and Sound Design at the 2016 Game Awards will receive a physical version sometime this summer. The press release also unveiled that the game’s soundtrack will be available in four distinct forms – a Deluxe Double CD, a Double Vinyl with 20 personal favorite tracks selected by the game’s developer, a Special Edition Four-Disc Vinyl. As well as a Special Limited Edition Vinyl Box Set, this hellishly impressive 4 LP collection includes the Deluxe Double CD and a limited-edition customized DOOM turntable slipmat.
Those looking to add the physical version DOOM‘s soundtrack, can pre-order the product now via Laced Records’ official website. However, if you are interested in pre-purchase the lucrative Special Limited Edition Vinyl, you will have to wait until May 2. Of course, if you are looking to buy the soundtrack now and do not care about a physical package, you can also buy the soundtrack now digitally on Amazon.
Composed by Mick Gordon, a long-time collaborator with the Maryland-based studio, Gordon’s dark and intense vision grooves industrial metal to match the same ambiance found in the popular franchise. With the original score containing 31 synth and heavy metal-filled tracks, which span over two hours of runtime.
