SHINY! It's the first Comic Book giveaway from yours truly and Hi-Def Ninja!

For Giveaway #1, I'm making things easy. To enter, all you have to do is reply below with your favourite piece of Joss Whedon written/directed fiction, whether it's a TV show, film, comic book or anything else.

This giveaway is open to all HDN members and I'll cover all costs -- handling/shipping/etc. -- for the winner!

Included in this giveaway are the first two Serenity trade paperbacks from Dark Horse -- Volume 1: Those Left Behind and Volume 2: Better Days -- as well as a one-shot based off of Whedon's Dr. Horrible and another one-shot that was actually written by Whedon himself, Sugar Shock.

O.K, if we're talking fantasy casting here.
Picture this, and let's get Clint Eastwood in his prime (the obvious choice) out of the running to begin with.

It's about 1978 and through a complete stroke of luck, and the win in a high stakes poker game, I've been given the job of casting for a future Judge Dredd movie-to be released in 1982.

Now if you can get your head around that rather incredulous scenario, I offer up my two suggestions!

I give you, one of the 80's future action stars:

Kurt Russell.



And the current 80's hot property pop star, and future actress,

Debbie Harry.

So I was at the Special Edition: NYC, a smaller comics focused show run by the ReedPop (NYCC) people, last week and marvel was there handing out these promo comics, however all the artists were also there so I snagged signatures from them.

There is no 'comic' inside other than to show you these artists art, but like I said it is signed and this image was also used as the official poster image, which I think would make a nice addition to a collection.

The signed artists are: David Marquez, Ryan Stegman, Sara Pichelli, Valerio Schiti, Mahmud Asrar, and Nick Bradshaw.


So to win just tell me your favorite comic book/graphic novel story arc.

As Dredd is one of my absolute favorites, I couldn't resist getting in on this one! Thanks for the great giveaway! I am pretty happy with the current casting, but if it had to change, here's what I would do.
Dredd: The one, the only... Ron Perlman. The chin, the voice, the stature. The guy is pretty much Dredd already!

Anderson: Is there anything Jennifer Lawrence can't do (and look ridiculously hot while doing it)? The answer you're looking for is "No". Just no.

PS: I also love Nyvana's suggestion of Jon Bernthal.
