Hi All ....

I know we have this thread

https://www.hidefninja.com/community/threads/hdns-most-wanted-steelbooks.34326/ which features our most wanted but I was curious since its inception is there any new recent films or by off chance any we missed that we should add to this list?

Please feel free to add in this thread.

(mod note: leave this thread here, ultimately we'll move this to "chat")

I have to agree with a UK dredd, i have yet to buy that uk amaray version as I heard the PQ is no good?

I think retailers are doing quite well for new release steelbooks.

I too, as above, would like some Jackie chan.

I'm interested in some of the old comedies with Steve Martin, John candy, gene wilder, Richard Pryor, tom hanks, better miller, like planes, trains.. , dirty rotten scoundrels, stir crazy, silver streak, hear no evil.. the money pit, outrageous fortune... and so on.

Also flight of the navigator and labyrinth, there are many 80's movies I could mention till you all got bored and stopped reading lol..

And some more Hitchcock would be good.

Saving Mr banks to sit along side mary poppins would be good too

I'll stop now:)

I'd like Knight and Day. I know there is a very rare Japanese version, a European version would be great.
Also

The Warriors
Big Wednesday
Mean Streets
Manhattan
Dead Poets Society
Christine
Misery
Angel Heart
Year of the Dragon
The Breakfast Club
Ferris Buellers day off
Southern Comfort
Adventureland
Enter the Dragon

Die Hard 3 (matching Zavvi artwork)
The Scorpion King (only the first one)
A proper Doom (The Rock movie) steel
End of Days (Arnie)
I'd love to see the Star Wars Clone wars seasons get steelbooks (not jumbos)
Also Arrow seasons 1&2 separate steels
Maybe Mighty Morphin Power Rangers the Movie?

I've had my fingers crossed for your 3 catalogue choices since I began collecting. To that list, I'd add Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Stand By Me, The Dark Crystal, American Psycho & about a dozen and a half crappy horror flicks (my guilty pleasure).

If I had to choose just 1 that I thought actually had a chance it would be what the majority seems to want and that's a new Hulk steel. As many know, I've got a soft spot for the big green guy.

Completely agree there mate and I would love American Psycho to be one.

One or two more would be Planes 2 (yeah, that's right I said it) and True Lies

I'd also stump for an Agents of Shield Season 1 steelbook release but only if it was likely that the other seasons and planned connected shows would get an SB release also

True Lies
L.A. Confidential
Blue Velvet
Lars von trier steels - Dancer in the dark, Dogville (although these are a bit niche)
The Hitcher (not the remake)
Night of the Demon
Vanilla Sky
Candyman
The Score
The Last Castle
Charlies Angels 1 and 2
Eyes Wide Shut
True Detective - Season 1

What I wouldn't like to see is re-prints. If steels of already released films get released then thats ok but please use different artwork.

Just a few off the top of my head . . .

The Adventures of Robin Hood (Errol Flynn)
Vertigo
The Red Shoes (Powell and Pressburger)
Black Narcissus
Peeping Tom
Lawrence of Arabia (original promo artwork and all the extras)
Charge of the Light Brigade (1968) uncut.
Barbarella
Modesty Blaise
Grand Prix (1966)
Le Mans (1971)
Pink Floyd Live at Pompeii (original and directors cut)
Tom Jones
French Connection 2
The Duellists
Wolfen
Slam Dance
Police Story
The Accidental Spy
Empire Records

I could reel off a list of my personal favourites, but since it's likely that most of them will eventually materialise at some point, I would prefer to highlight the lack of Steelbook releases from the UK label Entertainment in Video since they haven't released a Steelbook to date. I challenge anyone to look through their catalogue and not find at least half a dozen titles they would buy in an instant. I would love to see American Hustle, Before the Devil Knows You're Dead, A History of Violence, Lucky Number Slevin, The Mask, Million Dollar Baby and Silver Linings Playbook. I wouldn't really care for a new version of Dredd, but I wouldn't mind too much if it was the title that kick-started a wave of Steelbooks from this label.
