Oh not this old chestnut again!

Just look at the U.S. release of Moana. The 3D edition sold out in preorder, the regular edition is still available.

Somebody must be still watching 3D....

3D is dead in the water. TV manufacturers aren't even making them anymore. It's not worth the extra money just because 3D is included.

There a Petition going on for LG to revive their 3D OLED TV for 2018 ! And also lots of people own 3D TV so for me personally it is worth it. I will need to Purchase a TV for myself next year and if I can't find a new one I will hunt unsold 2016 models that does carry 3D Technology.

Well i'm keeping my 3D TV and will wait until it is certain the format will die or not before getting a new one, and personally I like to occationally watch something in 3D. Considering JC is doing the next 4 Avatar films in 3D I'd be surprised if at least one manufacturer didn't continue the option on their TVs as standard. He also said that he would look at remastering Abyss and Aliens in 3D if T2 turns out to be an economic success, and I would love to have and see those!

Apologies I have just helped to diverge the thread even more!! Lets get back on track! I want this film in 3D LOL!!

The new 2017 range of TVs from LG and Sony (I think) have been confirmed not to have 3D. Don't know about others though...
All TV manufactures have dropped 3D support for TV's made in 2017 as no TV's will produced in 2017 that will play 3D
If you want a TV that supports 3D it will have to be a TV made in 2016 or earlier

2018 it's not known yet if TV panels will have 3D Support added again

The future of 3D in the home will be 3D without the need for 3D Glasses and prototypes are been worked on to achieve this but not known yet when they will be ready for the consumer market

James Cameron talks about future of 3D in this Video and why he want's TV's in homes without the need for 3D Glasses
