DISC DETAILS FROM SYNAPSE:
One of legendary filmmaker Dario Argento’s most shocking and fantastic films is finally available on Blu-ray in the U.S. in an amazing new release from Synapse Films! Released in the U.S. as CREEPERS by New Line Cinema, 1985’s PHENOMENA is has long been one of Argento’s most discussed and debated films by fans and scholars, and now it’s available in a definitive 3-disc Steelbook® that will make it a must-have release for Argento fans all over the world!

The young Jenifer Corvino (played by Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Connelly, in one of her first film roles) is sent to a private Swiss academy for girls where a vicious killer is on the loose, brutally murdering students. Jennifer is a “gifted” girl with the strange ability to communicate with insects, and Dr. McGregor (Donald Pleasence, John Carpenter’s HALLOWEEN series, ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK) enlists her to help locate the killer. Jennifer finds herself in a bizarre murder plot with maggots, mutants, and razor-wielding chimpanzee mayhem! Can she uncover the killer’s identity before becoming a victim herself? Daria Nicolodi (TENEBRAE) and Fiore Argento (DEMONS) also star in this strange, unique and gory film from Italy’s Master of Horror, Dario Argento. PHENOMENA also features fantastic soundtrack music from progressive-rock favorite Goblin, British Heavy Metal masters Motörhead & Iron Maiden, Andi Sex Gang, Bill Wyman and Simon Boswell!

It's nice but I haven't got a clue what it is...

Shame it wasn't Halloween, Friday 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street or something

Completely forgot about this today

I think I'll give it a miss this time which is a shame. I like the new steel art and would prob go for the inker but they are very simular to Tenebrae plus a bit of a shame no Aseo which I would most likely go for to match my Tenebrae

Also shame about the region A disc and the price is a little too high (especially with current exchange rates) for a film I don't care too much about and can't watch (already own the arrow steel anyway).
Also if I did go for this I would only want the red coin and considering it's random with no way of telling what I'll get I won't risk the gamble

Also those pins are the only thing I want but the extra price on top to get them is a little mental but understand it's all to support the site.

Hopefully the pins can be purchased seperately at some point.

Well done to the staff and artists for the packages but it's just not tickling my fancy this time

I'm hoping the next one is a much better film and away from the trend of Italian B movie horrors (which I do like but want something a bit different)

oh well.
I do like my Argento flicks but there have been so many releases of these titles. Maybe not steelbooks but there are so many other horror titles that deserve nice SB treatments.

Unfortunately, for the second time an easy pass :sorry:

Would love love it if we try a different director next year or just name it the Argento collection instead.

Not having a go, love me horror but just don't like his movies.

Not a problem @BDDB ! As I said here earlier today, we are always looking at all kinds of opportunities, so hopefully a future title will be of interest. Thanks for stopping by!

Valid point ... last year the Black Label 1 thread existed for a long while before it went to order. So a lot more people "knew" about it ... so one would suspect with this short announce period that the items would stay in stock longer as regulars who don't visit every day but do come from time to time come back and visit.

But I can say this ... a small amount is being held for around October 22nd to go live again so there will be a more precise time to come.

However, I went ahead and just took off another 10 of each edition. Should these for some reason not be available still tomorrow. at 3pm CST I will put that QTY back in stock. (including a couple platinums). so 9pm London. I dont think we will have that issue, but if that helps add another layer for folks .. then there you have it.

Ok put back the stock as stated/promised.

Looks nice for those interested and will match up to the BL no1 which is really cool, but pass for me, it was a one off watch and not one of Argento's best "imo" plus region A is a no go for me. Hopefully not Argento next time unless its Suspiria and is region free. Excellent work though guys on another exclusive HDN release

Ah hell, I broke down and bought the Dark Inker version at the last minute, even though I passed on the Tenebre release last year. I like Dark Inker's art on both Tenebre and this, but I really can't stand Synapse's steelbooks for either of these films. That's why I never bought Tenebre and why I almost didn't get this. Realizing that Suspiria is a likely candidate for next year was what changed my mind--I'll buy that one no matter what it looks like because it's one of the 10 greatest horror films ever made. And I'll fight anyone who doesn't agree to the death.

Does last year's Tenebre ever show up on Ebay? I have no choice but to hunt it down now.

Sadly I have to pass as I had to pay for the Recent Terminator 3 box set as well as The Hills Have Eyes and I have a few gems to pay over the next few weeks so unless I'm prepared to rob a bank, for the moment it's off limits..... And there is that dreaded season to consider coming out (a lot sooner than you think), Yep CHRISTMAS, where red now means being in the red at Christmas instead of the colour of Holly and Santa's outfit (thank you Coca-Cola for that one!)

I picked up the black label Tenebrae off Ebay some weeks ago and, yeah, they seem to be listed there semi-frequently - people not so interested in holding on to their copies, apparently. It cost me double the HDN asking price, but I specifically wanted the Quiltface, presuming it was an original artwork that wouldn't be replicated, that's kind of how I justified the hit to my bank account. Kind of disappointed that they've gone with the exact same design with little to no differentiation on this one. I'm not interested in uniform sets - to me they don't have great shelf presence. But that's ok, I've just picked up the Dark Inker Phenomena instead, for a little variety.
