I received mine yesterday and it was packaged in just shink wrap and no suprise at all, was scratched. Complained and got my replacement today packaged in a nice box and mint condition. I dno what wemt wrong the first time.

I don't understand how stuff like this can happen. I mean surely they've had a lot of negative feedback about this design, so how come nothing happens and it gets released like this. Someone somewhere down the line has to say "look this is a piece of junk, we need to choose some better art?".

It's funny because when Zavvi had that page explaining the process that goes on with their Steelbooks they said something like (and I'm paraphrasing here) "If we are unsatisfied with the artwork we can send feedback back and reject the design if we think it's not up to standards"

So how the hell do you look at this Steelbook and go "Gee...this looks fantastic"

World Wide Steelbook or not I don't see why they don't reject it and ask them if they can do their own Steelbook further down the line....or at least their collection with consistent artwork. I'd be happy with the poster artwork on each one.

@ChrisIW this is fox they been doing the same rubbish for years! some employed idiot creates a design shows to all his other 'designers':rofl::rofl: they all go wow isn't cool!
drawings sent to steel manufacturer job done onto next one. trouble is they are not interested they only look at profit!
its a real shame someone from here (Senior Staff)doesn't sending the open letter and voted for by all hdn members maybe that could get some attention if was big enough, unfouranately don't think anyone has the gumption to do so and so the rubbish will keep churning out by fox.

@Robsonmonkey hate to break it to you this one is amazon and don't think zavvi or any other retailer has rejected a steel if so prob count on one hand. usually studio says here it is at this price take it or leave it and the retailers just say yes, they are frightend will be given to someone else. hence zavvi do most steels and amazon not alot in comparison as one example.

basil

All the recent Spectre inspired range (OHMSS, Casino Royale, Skyfall re-issue etc.) features an image from the credits, with the title displayed where it would have appeared on-screen. Does the title 'Spectre' appear with the octopus bullet hole on a black background during the movie credits? That would explain it I guess.

Just wondering did you remove the cellophane as I thought my copy had spine slashes on it but turned out it was wrapped in cellophane twice making it look as if it was slashed
Mine was double wrapped too! They must have used twice as much cellophane as usual on this one!!

It was also sent in a standard A1 cardboard mailer EEK! ... but thankfully arrived unscathed.

Feedback sent to Amazon regarding the packing used! (n)

I suppose the comments made by Zavvi on the 7/2/14 in an interview about their role in the steelbook process could just as easily have been made by a spokesperson from Amazon or HMV and I quote:-

"Q: How much say does Zavvi have over the artwork used and is it produced in-house or by the studio?
A: From a concept and ideas point of view we can suggest, request and influence the artwork. However, final say is with the studios and we are often limited to what has been pre-approved.
The studio produces the artwork so no design work is done at Zavvi at all. Sometimes this works fine with "The Rocketeer" serving as a perfect example of this and the whole idea of producing a "Rocketeer" steelbook came from seeing the original U.S. One Sheet Teaser Poster and thinking how great it would look as a steelbook. At one point it was looking like we couldn't use it but luckily we discovered it had been used as the cover art for the OST (original/official sound track) in the U.K. so therefore it had been pre-approved and was good to go.
Other times we have walked away from a steelbook because the artwork is just not there.
Some older films or films that have swapped distributors through the years can be particularly difficult to work with and any newly commissioned artwork can take up to one year to get signed-off with no guarantee of it ever actually happening.
Would love it if it was easier to get artwork approved as there is some amazing fan artwork out there . . . "

VERY SURPRISED to see this no longer available from Amazon - particularly with this unimaginative artwork an' all - and would be EVEN MORE SURPRISED if this doesn't come back at a more sensible price as I find it REALLY HARD TO BELIEVE that they are not going to get more in.
It is still available with Amazon UK as the seller lots of stock available
