Official announcement from Star Wars.com:

In addition, Iger confirmed that Rian Johnson will write and direct Star Wars: Episode VIII. The film, which continues the saga after the events of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, is set for release on May 26, 2017 — forty years and a day after the release of Star Wars: A New Hope in 1977. Johnson is widely considered one of cinema’s most gifted young filmmakers, having directed the modern sci-fi classic, Looper, as well as Brick and The Brothers Bloom. He was also behind the camera for three episodes of the critically-acclaimed TV series Breaking Bad, including “Ozymandias,” which series creator Vince Gilligan named as the best installment of the show. Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman, producer of Looper, Don Jon, Brick, and The Brothers Bloom, are on board to produce.

Managed to get Midnight showing at BFI IMAX Waterloo in London on the 14th Dec. So PUMPED!

They said tickets were going live at 7am, but used my knowledge of their rubbish booking system and knew they'd probably go live 30 mins early. Proved right and breezed through the checkout! Cannot Wait!!!!

Yeh Vue is the same,

Wanted to go midnight BFI but decided to wait till the final film to do it and make a proper day of it, the trains times really **** me up for that late a showing, Will go and see it in BFI at a later time, meanwhile Printworks manc will have to do me.

I'm going to try to not watch it.
its going to be painful but I feel like I don't need to see anymore footage. I'm already in, I want to try and keep it as fresh as possible.
I was sold before I saw a single trailer, but I simply don't have the willpower to avoid them... Star Wars is my weakness. :p

Not to try and persuade you to watch it or anything, but this is easily the best trailer IMO and has managed to get me even more excited! :D

Really liking that! Love the use of red.

HYPED!! :woot:

Knowing how Disney/Lucasfilm works, ALL the possible spoilers in this, AREN'T!!!!
That's the only reason why I surrendered @kaw
My thoughts exactly... they love playing mind tricks with us. :naughty:

I'm probably in a minority but I thought the trailer was just ok. I didn't get the same goosebumps as watching the ones before the force awakens.

I am still excited for the release though & I've got my tickets booked already.

Agree.
I sincerely "cried" during TFA official trailer as it has been such a looooong time since we got the real Star Wars feeling and J.J. did an awesome job.
Now with TLJ, we know where we are, we know it's gonna be a winner but still... had a great feeling about it.
